We went as a family of 5 - had a helicopter to ourselves. So glad we did the Continental divide tour (45 mins) - got to see sights that you can't see any other way! Got to see mountain peaks at eye level. Saw cloud/mist in valleys below us. We could see the details of ice crevasses and glaciers. Seeing one mountain up close is amazing - getting a view of a range of mountains as far as the eye can see in all directions is awe-inspiring and breath-taking. Helicopter itself was good - the bubble windows in the back allow shots along the direction of travel, which is amazing. Two people had to sit backwards, which wasn't ideal. It got a bit hot - but better than being cold in November. The pilot is great and informational. The ground crew were nice and helpful. Grinned from ear-to-ear from take off to landing!

The choppers are very old and the views tends to get really repetitive and boring. We bought the "Continental divide tour" which was about 45 minutes and after just crossing the 20 minute mark, we started to get a bit bored. I think "Three Sisters Peaks Tour" would have been a lot better pick, it would save us some money and boredem.
And I wish they would use modern helicopters, the cabin felt outdated and it almost felt like they were from the soviet era. We took a scenic helicopter ride in Australia's three sisters and their choppers were a lot modern than them.

Cody our pilot was outstanding! He was knowledgeable on the terrain and educated us as we embarked on the 20 minute tour of three sisters. Perfect weather and great visibility. Ground crew service was excellent. The views from the helicopter made it a once in a lifetime memory.

We had a great trip to Mt Assiniboine and glaciers. We were lucky that the weather was perfect with sunshine and clouds casting great shadows over the peaks and lakes. The colours were amazing. The flight is a good length for the passengers to have ample time to have great views. The whole experience was excellent; the staff are all very friendly and safety procedures are carefully explained. Each passenger is allocated at position so no arguing over who goes where! Inevitably that means that a couple of people travel backwards and have a slightly obscured view with the window frame but it has little impact on the enjoyment. In hindsight I would have liked a map of where we’d flown but I have great photos, though we recommend putting down the lens and just enjoying the experience. Would highly recommend 😊

We had an amazing experience, even though the weather was against us. We had to reschedule 3 times due to fog, but the staff there were super friendly and accommodating and we appreciated it so much. It’s also a really nice place to just hangout and wait for your flight and it made the whole experience much more pleasant.

The overall experience was great! The staff is so very nice and professional. They really take care of you. The only minor remark is, that when you sit one one side of the helicopter, you don’t always see what is explained by te pilot because the view is blocked by the person sitting next to you. So you don’t get to see everything then.

A perfect 35 min excursion to Assiniboine Glacier. The views are breathtaking and the ride was smooth as ice! The ground crew (who welcome you and do the safety briefing were helpful and informative). Sure, it costs money .. but helicopters are not cheap to run ... and this was the highlight of our stay in Canmore/Banff! A big thumbs up!
I didn't upload a pic as I haven't downloaded them from my camera yet and I don't want to take away the excitement for you of seeing this live!

Hi. Has anyone taken a helicopter tour in the middle of Winter? We will be there in the new year and was wondering if a tour when everything is white is worth it compared to other seasons. Thanks.

Hi Brad, we feel the winter is one of the best time to do a heli tour. The white accents from the snow on the mountains really makes the Rockies look bigger because of the contrast. We are open year round and yes the helicopters are all heated!

Hello are you's able to helihiking drop off .
I am hoping to go to Yoho national park .. Twin falls campsite then hike down. If able how much cost ...how much weight can a person bring??

Hi there,
Thank you for the question. All of the heli-hiking has to be booked through a separate company such as White Mountain Adventures or Martha's Heli Hikes. We do not drop off in Yoho as it is a National Park.

My helicopter flight was part of a Scenic Tour- the cost of the 12 minute flight was covered within the tour. I did pay extra money to extend my flight to 25 minute. costs seemed comparable to other flights that I have done in Australia and Victoria Falls in Africa.
