This hike was on the list of things to do for our honeymoon in the rockies and it didn't disappoint. To set the scene, me and the wife are not experienced hikers or climbers but we have a very high level of fitness from Endurance...More

The trail head to Ha Ling can be found at the Goat Creek parking lot (past the Canmore Nordic Centre) it's a steep hike but very pretty, you're in the trees for most of the hike. It's well travelled so you will almost never be...More

Total hike took us 4 hours and it got very steep towards the top. You have an amazing view at the top and it is totally worth it! Be prepared for windy conditions up there and a very slow steep way down

Be prepared when doing this hike!! It is steep...the entire way! No breaks! It has some areas where you need to mind your footing. Lose your focus and you can end up slipping, falling or rolling an ankle on the endless roots and rocks that...More

As a hike, this one is a picturesque one that gains elevation very quickly. Beware at the top as it can get very windy and there is real danger of falling over the edge if you get too close and a gust comes. Just exercise...More

Mostly fit 50 y/o. Hike took 4 hours round trip. To be clear you hike straight up to the summit. Hardly a step on level ground. Stunning views from the top.

We really enjoyed this hike. It's a steady uphill climb and a very good leg workout. Most of the hike is spent going through tree cover but there are several open viewpoints along the way. When you get close to the top, everything opens up.There...More

First, the directions. Drive past Grassi Lake (closed x 2 months anyway because of bears), and you will find Goat Creek. There are a lot of people who have stopped on the side of the road, but keep going. Parking is at the end. It...More

Ha Ling, which overlooks Canmore, can be climbed in a couple of hours by a reasonably fit person. There is a well-trodden path through the forest and then a final section across open rock. The view from the top is great, perfect place to rest...More
