About
Golf on the Roof of the World - When the game of golf is played on a course carved out of original Rocky Mountain terrain, something fundamental changes. There is a mystery built in. Not just the practical question of where the ball will land, but how will you ever return to urban golf after a magical mountain golfing experience like the one at Silvertip. Designed by world renowned architect Les Furber, the course plays from an approachable 5,089 yards to an awesome championship 7,173 yards, with over 600 feet of elevation change, making it the single most breathtaking mountain course in the world for literally any level of play.

Beautiful Course
Oct. 2020 • Couples
My husband and I loved golfing Silvertip. We are from Saskatchewan, so the terrain and views are definitely different from home! Be prepared to walk and lots of elevation changes on foot - we each walked ~10,000 steps and climbed the equivalent of 23 flights of stairs, and we had a cart! The cart path between holes is a beautiful drive through the rugged landscape and is a treat itself.

COVID Summer of golf
Sep. 2020 • Couples
COVID summer of golf! So beautiful and well worth the pricey golf fees. I played great! My second best round this summer of 91. The staff are superb and such incredible views of the three sisters.

The golf looked amazing, but we were here for a great patio dinner
Jul. 2020
We decided to come here for dinner one night while visiting Canmore. And we weren't disappointed! What an incredible view from the patio! Just amazing! Service was excellent (thanks, Luke!). Food was good (beef dip & fish tacos), prices were very reasonable, and combined with the view & the service, just an outstanding experience! Really wish we had the opportunity to golf it, but only so much time & too much to do on Holidays. Would absolutely recommend it!

Loved it - Fun, Challenging and Beautiful
Aug. 2019
We golfed here one afternoon in August and just had a blast. The course is interesting and unlike anything I've ever really played before. Stunning views of course, but also the holes were different with some stunning elevation changes and creative shot-making required. The course didn't always reward a good shot, as the fairways can be uneven and rolling - but that just made things more interesting for us - ball above your feet, ball below your feet, etc - just made finding a creative shot even more fun - and rewarding if you could pull it off. We were also rewarded with some local wildlife on a couple of holes - so keep your eyes open. Definitely worth a return visit - might choose a different strategy on a couple holes.

Gem with gorgeous views

We played here late July 2019 and were not disappointed! The course was in great shape and the scenery just beautiful. The staff was very welcoming and the cost is very well worth every penny. We would highly recommend playing here.

Outstanding again
Jul. 2019 • Couples
We always like to get here every couple years, so we golfed twice this trip. Only drawback was our second game we had to endure aeration and top-dressing.... oh well, the backdrop made you forget about it. Great shape because of all the rain, so very enjoyable again.

Great views!

Drove up from Calgary for a lunch on bright fall day. Not crowded, good service and food was just fine. Best part of all was the spectacular mountain views from the pub!

Restaurant Review - Good food & views!
Aug. 2018 • Couples
Our hotel was in Canmore during our trip to Banff so we decided to eat dinner locally instead of driving back into Banff. The resort itself was easy to find but the restaurant is not well marked, there are several buildings to choose from and no signs directing you to the restaurant itself. Once inside, the service was good, we had a very friendly waitress. The food is definitely on the expensive side, but this was expected eating at a resort in a town like Canmore. The views of the golf course were impressive from our table and overall we were happy with the experience.

Overpriced is an understatement
Jun. 2018 • Friends
I took my father here when he was out visiting. Generally we play one higher end course when he’s out and this time it was Silvertip. For the price, it was an awful experience. $170 something, which funny enough (not funny at all) was about the price of a new wedge after mine was destroyed in a bunker. There were rocks everywhere in the bunkers. After I damaged my 60°, I just stopped playing out of them. It was the same in every bunker I recall. The greens were TERRIBLE. Slow and bumpy. There is no excuse for that at the price you pay. The pro shop staff tried to tell me it was the elk and there was nothing they could really do about it. But he was wrong, because they could lower the price AND stop BS’ing people. A bull elk weighs 8-900 pounds, there’d be no green left period if it was damage from the animal. It was poor greens keeping. The course itself is a little gimmicky. A number of blind shots and really sharp doglegs. It’s really nothing special. Also, it’s not walkable. The views are amazing, but there’s no sense paying for that when there’s good golf courses around that offer the same. Canmore Golf and Curling Club, Stewart Creek, Banff Springs, Kananaskis (both) are all far better layouts, in better shape and far better value. Heck, even Redwood Meadows, on the way back to Calgary is better in every way ($80 and they used to host a Web.com event) I won’t be returning to Silvertip (Review from 2017, I just signed up on trip advisor)
