Golf on the Roof of the World - When the game of golf is played on a course...

Golf on the Roof of the World - When the game of golf is played on a course carved out of original Rocky Mountain terrain, something fundamental changes. There is a mystery built in. Not just the practical question of where the ball will land, but how will you ever return to urban golf after a magical mountain golfing experience like the one at Silvertip. Designed by world renowned architect Les Furber, the course plays from an approachable 5,089 yards to an awesome championship 7,173 yards, with over 600 feet of elevation change, making it the single most breathtaking mountain course in the world for literally any level of play.

I've had the pleasure of playing SilverTip many times, most recently in May 2016 as a host to a group of old college friends visiting town. Its always amazing to experience something familiar through a visitor's eyes. SilverTip is one of two spectacular golf resort courses in Canmore, the other being Stewart Creek. SilverTip is the more "tricked up" of... More

We were touring the area and had made plans to play golf somewhere in the area. We looked at a couple courses before making our decision and by far, made a positive choice in Silvertip. We played 2 days back to back 36 holes each day. Spectacular scenery, the course was in excellent condition (super challenging greens) and by far,... More

Silvertip is an unbelievably scenic mountain golf course. We've got nothing like this in Europe.... Think Crans Sur Sierre on the European Tour except twenty times better. Breathtaking views in all directions and the greens had that magical combination of softness and lightning fast speed so a good approach would be fully rewarded. Forget Banff Springs, save a few dollars... More

If you are in the Banff/Canmore area you MUST play this course! Incredible views, elevation changes and an amazing downhill 18th hole add up to an incredible golfing experience. The three of us agreed that we had never seen views like it on a golf course anywhere in the world. The fairways were like carpets and the greens were like... More

Great views from each hole. Good condition a must play. I would make sure this is played before you play Banff Springs. Played first week in September Be prepared for any weather, saw rain, snow and sunshine all worth it.

First time here and hope to get back. The course was in excellent condition, although the super-fast greens were a challenge. It's not overly long so even a duffer like me can post a decent score, although a few narrow fairways were a test. Can't say enough about the scenery, wonderful views of the Rockies, particularly across the Bow Valley... More

This course presents as a resort mountain course, since the earlier years, they have made an effort for playability by cutting back the rough, thus widening the course slightly, but these are positive adjustments for the average player. if you can play the ball straight off the tee, this course will present far fewer issues, as many of the fairways... Silvertip is one of the great mountain courses. The layout plays a lot of holes downhill with beautiful views of the mountains. The course is kept in amazing condition and so you enjoy the very best of golf while also enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. I have played this course several times over the years,... More
