About
Elevation Place is Canmore's indoor playground, boasting a huge indoor climbing wall, aquatics centre with waterslide and hot tub, cardio/weight room, library and art gallery. A great place to spend some time indoor with the family playing on the climbing wall or in the pool, or come on your own for a workout or to push yourself on the climbing wall.

We spent a couple afternoons in the pools here. The lazy river was a hit & the hot pool to relax in March in the mountains was lovely. There was a waterslide & my Grandson spent many an hour playing basketball in the water. This was a return trip at his bidding & we were not disappointed. The staff were stellar as well. Happy times we had 😊

What a facility! Staff were also great! We visited 3x one day when it was real cold out. Wish the water slide was open for family swim is only downer. Wall climbing was so fun. Definitely go back next time. Great value.

Loved the pool-but I did not find the family swim hours were great. They were 9-3 and 6-9 ( but maybe that is due to swim clubs.)

Plan your day around those times if the kids want to rock climb. Rock climb early and then swim after. Pack snacks for the kids. There is an attached library to read books after a busy day.

Would be awesome to have shampoo/conditioner/body was in the showers for visitors. Thanks

It was a good place to go climbing and bouldering. However the mats seemed like they were a little worn out in a few places. And i wish they had more variety in the auto belay systems

Save your money going to the pool on cold days as it’ll be freezing inside the pool area. The ToC is well aware of their HVAC issues on cold days yet they won’t tell you and happily take your money to get in. Very unpleasant experience freezing and then leaving not even after one hour. Not worth the money.

I visited the pools on a busy Sunday and there were lots of families enjoying the toys, lazy river and water slide. There’s also a large slide for adults and lane swimming for those who want to exercise or train. I enjoyed the hot pool with a spectacular view and the steam room.

When I moved to Canmore a couple of years ago, I became a member of Elevation Place assuming it was an amazing fitness complex given that it cost $40 million to build. I soon realized the change rooms are way undersized for a facility that large and that busy. Small elementary schools have larger change rooms. I'd love to meet the person who designed the facility or approved the design. I would ask -- what were you thinking? I'm also shocked that there isn't more cardio equipment. And it's troubling when people sneak into the facility through the upstairs entryways -- another serious design flaw. Didn't they look at best practices?

This was a great place for our active family. I was able to swim laps in the big pool while my kids (over the age of 9) played in the other pools and used the slides. Then in the afternoon my kids went back in to enjoy the inflatable obstacle course. Later in the evening we all went wall climbing. Paid one low fee for the entire day and could come and go as we wanted to. We will definitely be back !

I've never used the indoor facilities like the pool, gym or climbing walls, but have come by several times as an out-of-town visitor. There's a good ambience here, people are excited to be going somewhere, working out, doing something. The main gather place has lots of seating and washrooms, and you can access the public library, art gallery or coffee shop from here, or just bring your own lunch if you don't want to eat outside. The architecture is stunning, and it seems like the place really, really works as a community hub.

Elevation Place(EP) has defined what it means to be the best community center. EP has it all an art gallery, library, gym, beautiful pool, and best of all great indoor climbing. While in Canmore there isn't a night I don't go to EP, the price is very affordable and the activities are endless. After a long day of hiking or climbing or skiing the next place on my list is EP, usually I fit in some more climbing at their excellent climbing gym and then after head over to the pool to do some lanes or just relax in the hot tub.

I can't say enough good things about EP, but as a testament there's no other place I would go to in the mountains regularly but Canmore for the sole reason that it is home to EP.
