About
At Mountain Glow Tan and Spa, we offer a wide array of services in a relaxing, warm environment. Our services include laser treatments, manicures and pedicures with shellac application, hair services, traditional tanning beds and a spray tanning booth, waxing and tinting services, relaxation massage (currently No RMT available), teeth whitening and a few other services. We also sell some great products such as GLO skincare and makeup, Moroccan Oil hair treatments, indoor tanning lotions and a wide assortment of men’s hair, bread and moisturizers. We take pride in our fun and inviting atmosphere. In our nail room, we have 2 massaging pedicure chairs and 2 manicure tables. You can relax and read a magazine on our iPad or watch any show on Netflix. In our massage room, you’ll drift off to relaxing music and calming aromas to help your daily stresses disappear. I need not say any more but why not: If you're from out of town and you need to kill an hour while your girlfriend is shopping on main street, then consider doing a walk in with Rish. It was my first time at The Mountain Glow and i will go back for sure. I have a couple of allergies and Mariz was so kind to check every product to make sure that they were ok for me. She was very professional and took good care for me. I got out of there so relaxed it felt very good. Go try the rehydrate facial it is the best. Rachel gave my husband and me a great pedicure which included an amazing, best-ever, foot massage. They might consider a more calm environment to add to the spa experience.

I was welcomed so warmly and I felt very much at home. A delicious prosecco was served, and I had one of the best pedicures ever. I highly recommend this special Spa.

Mariz is truly amazing at what she does! She’s the only nail tech I’ve ever been to that I’m actually excited to get a fill from. Her eye for detail is exceptional and she has a very warm and comforting presence. Highly recommend booking in with her.

Today i went to see Mariz for a facial and it was so far the best facial i have ever had in my life. It was my first time at The Mountain Glow and i will go back for sure. I have a couple of allergies and Mariz was so kind to check every product to make sure that they were ok for me. She was very professional and took good care for me. I got out of there so relaxed it felt very good. Go try the rehydrate facial it is the best. Thank you again for this wonderful experience can’t wait to go back.

Unfortunately I do not have much good to say about the company. While I must say that the staff that works here is absolutely outstanding (kind, personable and very helpful with every counter I've had), the same unfortunately does not go for the gentleman that owns the place.
I've been to this spa a couple of times in the past. It has a very easy-going feel to it, being an in-and-out kind of place, nothing fancy. So all in all I was a satisfied customer with them.
Until I had an encounter with the owner that I just could not swallow. For a reason that is arguably out of his hands (his only employee specific to the treatment I had purchased a package for quit, and I say arguable because if I'd ever find myself working for a person that treats people like he treated me as a customer, I would quit as well - but let’s not jump to conclusions here) my appointments were cancelled.
I found out one day prior to my booked appointment that it had been cancelled, with not a single apology for the inconvenience, nor a thank you for the understanding. This was the first thing that bothered me a little, seeing that he didn't at all follow up with a plan or a solution, just the plain email with the message that his employee quit and that it is what it is - I would be contacted if and when I needed to be, on his terms.
This for me was a bit troubling, seeing that the treatment that I had booked was time-sensitive. That would mean that my previously received treatment would have been useless. His way of making conversation with customers had me worried that in the future when the issue was resolved, I would not be compensated for the lost treatment.
For this reason I got in contact with him again a month later, after not having heard from him at all. The "conversation" that came next blew me out of the water. I'm not too sure what his thoughts were, but he turned the whole conversation into a massive fight while I repeatedly made sure that he knew I wasn't looking for an argument. His explosive reactions had me personally troubled, because his attacks felt very personal.
I'm writing this review with quite a lot of hesitation, because I don't like to leave an ugly trace anywhere I go in life. But I wish for no one to ever be treated like I was, not by anyone, let alone the owner of the company that you’re a paying customer with.
Long story short, I tried to follow up for a solution to an unfortunate situation, being professional and understanding throughout the whole process and got told that he was “done dealing with me” and to "not email him again" (it should never have been "him" in the first place, as a customer is always emailing the business, please don't make it personal). I stated that I did not desire to be a customer with his spa anymore and that I'd like to take my business elsewhere, so I requested a refund (seeing that any treatment I had received was unsuccessful due to unfortunate events). I didn't end up getting a refund for the treatments I had that were absolutely useless (seeing the time sensitivity) and honestly a big waste of time and effort, so in the end I've wasted 200 dollars and a too many good days on dealing with this person that is shockingly bad at customer service.
I’d like to end on a good note and offer the owner my honest advice: please consider hiring someone that could take over the customer service part of your business, I sincerely belief that this could help your business in the long run. I understand that not everyone is equally as capable to deal with customer concerns, but what I do know is that no customer deserves to deal with the service that you have given me.

Beyond disappointed with the service from the owner of Mountain Glow Tan & Spa. I purchased a package for my girlfriend which required a few time-sensitive visits. Unfortunately due to several events (covid, staffing issues etc.) my girlfriend had to be in contact with the owner a few times to find out what the best course of action was. We received VERY rude and short responses with no empathy or alternatives being offered. In the end we had to request a refund.
We received responses such as "You know what. You will have a refund by the end of the day." and "No your not getting more then that on the refund. It’s your choice to not receive the rest of your treatments.
It’s not a good afternoon so stop saying it! Don’t email me again. You are getting refunded on what you chose not to use. That’s it".
She was more than willing to accept an alternative option but since the package required several time-sensitive visits, each appointment had too much time in between resulting in each visit being pointless.
We understand times are tough for businesses but the owner here should absolutely refrain from being so rude and maybe just offer a game plan in the future so we wouldn't have to be refunded in the first place.
I unfortunately cannot recommend this business to anyone as we have received the worst customer service in all of our years living in Canmore.

5 STARS !!!!! Rish is a beast , just moved from Montreal and i wasn't sure where to get a haircut, well let me tell you that i've found my barber in town 👍🏻 ask for RISH he gives a lot of attention to detail and he'll ask what you want and work with it

Great experience all around. Great haircut. Fast, attention to detail, and clean. Very nice vibe in the whole spa. Place is spotless clean and very welcoming. Shout out to the owners and staff. Highly recommend!
