I love walking in this park. It's safe and well groomed. It's a tad noisy from the city noises but the dog loves the various sniffs. Each time I go to the park I find something to thank the city fathers/mothers for making sure we have a great green space.

Some many things to see and do. Great for little ones. There are climbers, a splash pad and animals.
Wonderful walking trails and ion stop.
Christmas time is special with a beautiful lights display!

Came here to see the winter festival of lights closer to Christmas.
Its a nice park and was well setup with lots of winter lights decor.
The park was crowded as people were trying to advantage of the decent temperatures and check out the winter lights before they close off.
Great place to walk around, enjoy the christmas decor and maybe build snowmans.

Not sure who or why people are giving such good reviews of this park, this is my second time coming and leaving within a half hour. Other than the skateboard park and the splash pad, there was nothing to see but a bunch of fencing and cordoned off construction areas, the farmstead had no animals and the pond area was totally blocked off and no grass, just dirt. There wasn’t even much in the way of trails to walk on. Some concrete paths for bikers and roller bladers if that’s what you want to do but other than that nothing. I must be missing something. Tons of signs everywhere pointing to nothing. I don’t get it but maybe that’s my adhd talking. Will skip this one in future.

They are still doing a lot of renovations here for the next year so we were limited in where we could go close to the water. The park itself has a number of birds and animals to see in large cages.

It's a nice park to walk through in the warmer days of Spring and the Summer months. There ae some animals, less andess from what I've observed over time, as well as some garden areas. The path is nice to stroll along and there is a splash park for the kids as well as a playground. I enjoy strolling by the boardwalk that by the little pond area.

Went with a young child I was mentoring. Pigs have no access to green space or dirt because they are diggers. Precisely the reason they need more than a concrete pad. It was HOT. water bowls tipped over. Tried desperately to get in contact with someone. Finally did and was assured they would be watered asap. Returned following day and bowls in exact same position. They had been at least 18 hours without water. Person in charge said they had free range and could access other water. Argued on the phone about it. Spoke to animal keepers who verified they do not have ability to leave small concrete area. Said they had been requesting heavier non tipable bowls. They did get those bowls thankfully. The pig enclosure has got to go or we need to reinforce fencing so they can be free and not dig under.

What is the body of water by the park? Are the rapids further along a part of the Grand River ?
Written June 11, 2017
Waterloo park is beside Silver Lake. It is not part of the Grand River, so there are no "rapids" at the park.
