The tea and scones in this place were delicious and very reasonably priced. They have a pottery and weaving studio both of which are a great place to hang out. You have to go in and get a parking permit from the front desk. The staff is mostly volunteers I gather.

One of Richmond Hill 's best kept secrets. A historical home, one of the oldest in Richmond hill has been converted to a tea room and craft gallery. The tea room has a peaceful ambience, perfect for enjoying a relaxing chat with friends and family. Looking for that special gift, for weddings, showers, babies or hard to shop for person, then the two shop rooms filled with a large variety handcrafted items may just be the answer.
The "gallery" room and tea room features ever changing art shows, with work available to purchase too.
Burr house is on Facebook if you would like to see some visuals.

I thought more would be showcased in this craft house. Tea & scones served on occasion. Not really for the young people. Quaint place to relax and share hand-made crafts.

Burr House is a heritage house now on a busy street in Richmond Hill. It has plenty of parking at the back and is located beside a ravine. Burr House reminded me of the Richmond Hill of not so many years ago. We went for afternoon tea. The tea was freshly made in lovely teapots. We each had a cup and saucer and there were lots of scones with jam and butter and delicious zucchini loaf...all home made. Then we headed into the shop. There was a wide selection of good pottery, knitting and weaving at reasonable prices. They also had beautiful paintings for sale. Everything is run by volunteers and it has a slightly hippy vibe...very authentic!

A great place to have afternoon tea in a heritage house in richmond hill. It's so hard to find a place like this among so many franchises these days. The food is good and price is so reasonable. The arts and crafts in the shop are so one of a kind too!

This place is worth a visit - the tea is a lovely traditional tea served by the sort of people you'd imagine would be serving tea! I like to browse at the lovely handmade goods, especially when I'm thinking about special gifts for family and friends. It is worth a special trip!

This is the home to the local spinners and weavers guild, and often has very cool little art and craft displays which are for sale. Lots of free parking as well.
