About
Open year round, Wye Marsh is an excellent place to get outdoors and get close to nature. Situated on 3,000 acres of National and Provincial Wildlife Area, the centre is teaming with fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities. From trumpeter swans to painted turtles there is always something to see from the 25 km of trails and boardwalks. We also offer naturalist guided tours and programs that will take you into the marsh. We offer guided canoe/kayak tours, walks with a naturalist and equipment rentals (bike, ski and snowshoe) to further explore the marsh. Our interpretive centre has live reptiles and amphibians and birds of prey demonstrations. Throughout the year we run special events, workshops and speaker presentations. Escape, explore and experience nature at it's best with Wye Marsh.

take the time to visit the Wye Marsh and walk through the amazing grounds. So much to see. Recommend the guided canoe trip.

A walk through the marsh is very peaceful. It's great to have a place like this to just be in nature, although the black flies are in abundance!

A very extensive center with a very well done boardwalk through the marsh, some nice programs to meet birds that aren't able to live in the wild, and a canoe trip through the marsh.

Beautiful piece of nature in Midland, ON. Different wildlife to see - Bald Eagle, Owls, Turkey Vulture, Trumpeter Swans, Blue Birds, Chicadees. Nice way to spend an hour or so walking the trails including the beautiful boardwalk that goes into the marsh and has several viewing decks and a tower overlooking the entire valley. Dog friendly except in the bird area. Some picnic tables around but carry out garbage and dog do as there are no bins anywhere.

Everything is non operational due to Covid but they still charged the same price. Online it says $8 for Seniors but when you get there is is $9. That is basically for a walk in the woods. The animals are gone, the exhibits empty etc. The outhouses had signs that they were dirty and the inside facilities were off limits because there was a children’s camp. Total waste of money. Avoid.

An interesting nature experience in Ontario. If you want to walk across the whole park, it probably takes about 2h if you are stopping to check out some plants and wildlife along the way. There are birds of prey in enclosures, a board walk, several lookouts, and lots of paths (in forest and around marsh). The marsh feels warmer than a normal (more breezy) area so bring water and dress appropriately.

The facilities are now completely open with appropriate distancing in effect. Wonderful trails to wander and excited, expectant chickadees waiting to be fed - so delightful. Nice touch to give you a little bag of sunflower seeds as you enter. Perhaps the fall chill kept people away but the marsh paths and boardwalks were also peaceful. Lovely couple of hours and looking forward to returning in other seasons.

Very Beautiful and quiet walk. Swans are a must see. They are used to people. Different things to see.

My husband and I came to the marsh for a nice little hike and we weren't disappointed. At the moment, during Covid, you pay by a donation at the entrance which is a nice idea. There are porta-potties at the far end of the parking lot and would suggest a visit before you head into the trails as their isn't anything once inside. There is a garbage receptacle outside the visitors centre but not a long the trails. The trail system has several paths that you can choose, all of which are very easy to walk. We went on a Friday around lunch time and it wasn't busy which was nice. There is also a sheltered area with picnic tables beside the parking lot, where you can enjoy your packed lunch.
Please don't litter along the trails. I picked up quite a few granola wrappers, and other snack type wrappers along our walk, which is just so unnecessary.
All in all a nice place to visit. Even better when there are staff there to give you some guided commentary.

Due to covid, the center was closed, so no guided walks or canoeing unfortunately. But I still found it worth the trip. It was lovely. The boardwalk was lovely, the woodland trails were lovely. I spent ~2 hours there, and walked all the trails. I will definitely go back for a guided canoe trip, once the center is fully open again.
