We took the grandchildren here while visiting my mother in the beautiful town of Midland Ontario. This is a great place for the kids to burn off some energy. The castle itself features a gift shop filled with an array of trinkets and collectibles. Watch the kids in here because there are alot of breakables! The downstairs of the castle used to be a haunted dungeon type thing, but I'm not sure if it's still there as our grands are quite young so we stayed out of the castle this time around. The enchanted kingdom in back of the castle is a great place for the kids to climb towers, slide down slides, play in the sand pit, walk the suspension bridge, visit the homes of various story book characters and peek in the windows to see Goldilocks and the three bears, little red riding hood, teddy bears picnic etc. There is a trail into the woods where kids can discover trees to hug, boulders to climb and burn off some energy. Fresh water is available at the wishing well, and there are picnic tables for those wishing to bring a lunch or snacks. This place has been around for awhile, we used to bring our kids here and were happy to carry on the tradition now with the grandkids. The place is up for sale but still open..I hope whoever buys this treasure continues on with the park. This place has great potential!

We spent a lovely day this week at Castle Village! We packed a picnic and explored the playground. The boys had me peeking in every window looking at the fairy tale characters and inventing stories about them. We ran back and forth on the small suspension bridge laughing and bouncing. I was put in the "dungeon" several times (in Merlin's Tower).
This site is ideal for families with kids 4-10. Unlike a playground, this site encourages imagination and exploration. We stayed for alomost 2 hours without my 3 boys being bored. We walked through the nature trail and climbed the big rock, took lots of pictures and made a few wishes in the wishing well.
Don't expect rides and special effects, plan on wholesome fun and allow your child to lead the exploration. They are never disappointed when given a chance to imagine with you.

I used to go here all the time as a child when I was visiting my grandparents. For free. It's now just over $7/person and while I don't mind paying that for the kids to go play in the back, for adults it is a complete rip off. They call it a pass which includes the inside, "dungeon tour" and play area out back. The inside has absolutely nothing inside but some swords on the wall and a little crappy area for kids (not worth it) the dungeon tour is a quick 5 minutes in the basement and is nothing special either. The best part of this place is by far the play area in the back which again, does not benefit adults. If they got rid of the adults having to pay it would be a pretty decent place.

We paid $35.00 for a family of 5. Buildings are worn down, not kept up. Save your money and do something else. My daughter was excited to go but very disappointed as it is really overrated in their advertising.

I'll preface this review by saying I love nursery rhymes and fantasy. I didn't have high expectations considering the cheap admission. But it was terrible. I would have provided my input in person but wanted to leave there as fast as I could.
This place is outdated and old. Ghetto music plays from an old stereo that plays out the window of one of the treehouses. The recreated storybook houses are filled with dusty old paraphernalia with traces of mouse droppings and laced with spiderwebs. The draw string bridge runs over a field of weeds instead of a pond/water.
Save your $5 and use it to entertain your kids with ice cream.

This place is a dump. They need to shut it down. What a waste of money and time. Trash everywhere, broken and unfinished. Just don’t.

I’ve reviewed this place many years ago with a high rating, but needed to give an update. Recently, new owners took over. Last summer, it was great. They renovated the place and added on some new features, which made the raise in price worth it. This summer, however, has been a huge disappointment. Anyone I know that has visited this year seems to feel the same. I’m really not sure what’s going on there, but none of the new features are there this year, and they are not keeping up on the maintenance. They’ve added escape rooms, which I haven’t tried, but the place is just super unwelcoming and disorganized now. It has so much potential, so it’s a shame. We won’t be going back. Seems like the owners are primarily using it for family/personal use, and not geared towards the public.

Well all the pictures looked enticing like my kids (2 and 5) would have fun. Nope. It needs a bit of a reno done to it. Lots of garbage laying around. Park was kind of sad, a couple slides, climbing thing and a sand box. The walking path was short and not much too look at other then busted pieces of wood. It cost us $25 for a family of 4 (9 and under are half price). Upon leaving my 5 year old exclaimed "that sucked". Great vacation memories.

Sorry to say,but it was very disappointing. So run down. Not safe. I was worried for my grandkids. As broken up, caution tape. So confusing. We paid for the deluxe package what deluxe? No tour. Thought the dress up for a photo be fun. Not. Ripped clothes & barely any complete. Looks good at the front gate, but downhill after that. My young grandkids were even disappointed. I don't know how they can be open. Someone should shut them down. It's ripping people off. Seriously. Sorry, but it's the truth. I never give such a bad review before. Don't waste your time or money, honestly.
