Little Lake Park is a little gem but 2020 is not a good year to visit. Firstly the blue green algae has closed the beach for swimming and boating probably for the season. Secondly, the geese are overtaking the waterfront so the park is a mess with droppings and smell. The only good thing is the restaurant at the location that serves great snack food and ice cream. If you are going to go, go to have a bite. There is a short walking/biking trail through the park. Washrooms are available during daytime and cleaned every 2 hours or so.

Nice park; lots of trees; big beach area; beach volleyball nets. basketball net. washrooms in a building not an outhouse; skatepark and swing set. the water is clear but the ground in the water is a little muddy; just have to watch your step in certain areas. i would recommend to anyone including families to spend a day there. lots of room to picnic. I don't know if BBQ is allowed as we were not going there to do that.

this is a nice to place for a family. It offers play grounds and picnic areas. the beach is perfect even for the little ones. You can canoe and kayak. The other options is a camp ground and a museum at the top of the hill as you enter from King Street.

Last Saturday, the 15th, my friend and I were visiting Midland from Kitchener. We went down to Little Lake Park around noon to sit and walk by the lake. We really enjoy ourselves there. Someone was having a birthday party there at the covered tables near the paring lot.
We went back after dinner. What a shock to see garbage everywhere! We sat for a bit but finally couldn't stand it. So we cleaned it up. A 60 yr old man and a 62 yr old lady with a cane. Before we cleaned, a female mpp took a picture of the mess.
The people who had the party should be fined.
We do love Midland which is why we cleaned up.

The lake and beach used to attract many local families and children. Last Friday I saw 500 Canada Geese taking over the beach. Beach had been lacking care long before the geese arrived. Sand was poor and full of weeds. I guess the current folks running the town never knew what it was like there 50 years ago. Mac McCallum rest in peace.
I do as I grew up there. Most communities treasure their water front and try to keep it pristine. Lots of paths and sitting areas which is great. Time to step up for the young families who can walk to the park.

Here I am in Little Lake Park in Midland Ontario. Guess what I was met with ???? Hundreds if not thousands of Canada Geese. Big, small, males, females. Are you aware that a goose defecates every 15 minutes with the feces being the size of a medium size dog. If I walk my dog and do not poop and scoop, I would get fined several hundred dollars. These geese are horrible, Disease carrying feces all over the place. How disgusting!!! This park has the potential of being a real gem. Skate board area. Swings, baseball diamond and many more attributes. These are all overshadowed by the geese. They have to go. Culling is needed !!!!!

This park has something to offer for everyone. If the weather isn't great you can play at the park or walk the trails, kids can use the skatepark or play baseball.
The beach sand area is not very deep, but it's very very wide. The water has a very large sandbar so you don't have to worry about the young ones. It's also a smaller lake compared to Georgian Bay so the water is considerably warmer.
You can Play Volleyball or my favourite disc golf. Parking is free and the park was never busy in the 3 visits we made. There is also a small restaurant to buy drinks or food.
It's really a nearly perfect park!

This was very picturesque with a beautiful view of the lake and gardens. We observed frisbee golf for the first time and witnessed all types of children doing various tasks. This possibly could be a summer camp spot. It was raining on and off that day but I can imagine that the beach is a popular spot. There were plenty of areas to picnic and explore. I hope to return next year.

A great park for the family. Lots of trails and play areas for the kids. It is a good place for the kids to bike. The only down side is that the beach area often isn't usable because of the geese.

there is lots of parking and depending where you want to go various parking lots. if you want to park near the lake just keep on following the road until you see the lake; at the lake, there are various parking areas. Easy walking, I have to walk with a cane myself due to arthritis in my knees
