We visited the Sugarbush Farm today and listened to a very interesting presentation on Maple syrup.
The presentation starts outside and you’ll learn how the indigenous first started to make the sweet syrup.
After that, you’ll proceed inside and see how the process is ran today.
It all ends with a tasting of a few different syrups. Its an activity worth planning for.

We’re staying in Muskoka for our summer holiday (we live in London normally).
My wife noticed this tour, and as we love maple syrup, we booked places … and really enjoyed the trip.
Tom is an excellent story-teller —- and is living his ‘purpose’ as a Maple Syrup producer, after a career working at Air Canada. His establishment is very impressive, and you can hike around the his forest of Red Maple trees.
We bought some amber maple syrup (which is absolutely delicious) and also enjoyed some ice-cream on the premise too.

My husband and I just had a tour here and it was excellent! The owners are very nice and personable. We learned a lot about the history of maple syrup and how it was made, and we learned how overtime the process changed. Then we were able to see how it is made now and, and we hiked through the woods to see the maple trees up close. At the end we got to try two different kinds of syrup- both were excellent! And my husband tried the maple ice cream and he LOVED it! I would definitely recommend this wonderful experience!

Originally from Montreal I visited Sugarbush Hill maple farm several weeks ago. I purchased a bottle of maple syrup and a vegetarian chilli and must say that I have never had a more delicious tasting maple syrup in my 72 years. Tom and his wife Eva run the farm and he told me how good his syrup was and it truly was. Eva‘s chilli was also really delicious. Thank you! Robert Mayoff.

Excellent. I visited in Sept 2021 with my grandchildren. Its in a beautiful setting. Enjoyed seeing the exhibit of the syrup making those days. Very cordial owner. Explained about the Maple syrup trails details when asked. Great place. Loved the maple ice cream and most of all the Sugar bush Maple syrup we bought was excellent and my grandkids loved it including their dog. Owner allowed to ring the bell :)

Excellent opportunity to see how Maple Syrup is made.
It's a great facility for everyone. The owner is very friendly and inviting.
Don't forget to try the Maple Ice Cream. It's worth a return trip. The infused BBQ Sauce and Mustard are great tasting items

This place is a gem in the Maple woods.
We bought delicious, very generous portioned maple soft ice cream cones, maple candy and their homemade maple BBQ sauce.
This place will not disappoint. A little off the beaten path on Muskoka Rd 10 just in from Brunel Rd, but worth it!!
Go there, you will be glad you did.

We were in Muskoka for a family trip and looked for places to visit. This came up as the top choice so we had to see it. With the fall colors, it’s a beautiful drive just getting to Sugarbush. We pulled in to be escorted to our parking spot by Brewster, the most lovable and gentle dog. Visiting during a pandemic meant that we could only see a little bit of the store but Tom and Eva were incredibly welcoming and shared their amazing stories of how Sugarbush came to be - as well as how they met and built this amazing dream business together. They are both remarkable people who have accomplished so much.
Though we couldn’t tour inside, we were able to hike through their endless acres of land and see how the tubes of syrup were all connected. Brewster led the way of course. When we returned to the store, our little 3 year old got one of the famous maple syrup ice cream servings. There wasn’t even a drop left for us to try! This is definitely a unique ice cream that’s hard to find or replicate anywhere else.
Finally, the syrup. Our family enjoys maple syrup and usually get it from our local grocery store. I have never, ever tasted syrup that was so thick, pure and rich with flavour. I can understand why people drive up from the city for bottles of this syrup. This is the premium stuff that you stash away for special occasions or give to people you really, really like!
We will definitely be back to visit and when we can’t come in person, we’ll be ordering more syrup. This beautiful place lives up to its top rating and is completely worth your time to visit.

Considering you are a sugar bush, you must not be open year round. When is it open?

Hi
There is no entrance fee, if we are producing the sugarhouse tours are postphoned. You can view from the maple observation deck. The best would be to call in the morning around 9 a.m. to see whats going on. A lot depends on the weather and temps.
Thanks for the question and your interest in Sugarbush Hill.
