the bottom’s covered with soft white sand, The water is clean, transparent….The conditions are optimal for rest with little ones, the whole family, with friends…Plenty of amenities make this beach easily accessible for everyone.. I saw many families with kids enjoying on the beach… There’re picnic tables, sand castles, swimming , water scooters etc…. the water was very cold but it’s an entirely new experience as they’re no waves to sweep you off your feet…as usual before entering any water body I try to learn about it’s depth , and this lake has a mean depth of 283 feet and its deepest point is 802 feet but I didn’t want to venture deep into it anyway to prove the veracity of this statement….I tried my hand at kite flying also, but couldn’t succeed

The view was great, the water wasn't too cold and the sand was warm but not too warm, which was great! Although there were a lot of people, the beach was big and we weren't too cramped, which was great. There is also a mini water park for the little ones.
In addition, there are 2-3 food trucks at the entrance to the beach for those who do not bring food.
There is also a bathroom and a place to refill our water bottles.
Small downside is that parking is paid and it is quite expensive, for around 2 hours it cost us $13…
In short, despite the parking being too expensive, me and my friend loved our experience and if we still have the chance to go there one day, you can count on us!

It was a long drive but we did decide to visit this beach to enjoy the calmness of Lake Ontario on a hot day. It is a pretty beach in a beautiful town of cobourg. Washrooms are clean and available close to beach. There are rides and a splash pad for kids to enjoy. We loved this each and I recommend this beach for friends and family visit.

Be careful parking here. After driving around for 30 minutes I saw a lot with metered parking with spots available, paid my 20 parking fee and went to the function I was attending. I did not notice the incredibly large sign to the left side of the lot that said residents only. Got an $160 parking ticket to go with my $20.00 parking fee which is somewhat parasitic way to treat tourist who may not be familiar with the area. The other town attraction I am told is the old town jail that's now an hotel. Somewhat fitting as the town council who approved a fine like that is criminal.

The beach is beautiful. But the parking enforcement is terrible. Me, my wife and kids was there on Sunday during the Civic holiday long weekend. A few minutes right after we found a parking spot, juts before I came back with the paid parking ticket; there was a parking ticket on my car. I was so pissed. I called the town of Cobourg a few times, no one answered. Then I finally got a reply after I posted on Facebook. Then I emailed my concern to the Manager of City By-law of Cobourg. His attitude was very bad. He even accused me paid the parking after I received the parking ticket. Why would I risk getting a $160 fine for a $20 parking fee? That's insulting my IQ. And there is no clear instruction on where to submit the completed Trial option at the back of the ticket. Very terrible experience.

Nice place to visit as couples or with family.
Beach is well maintained, facilities are in good condition.

Cobourg beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited.
It is completely free other than the parking, but the upkeep and maintenance of this beach is incredible.
It is cleaned daily making it the best place to visit with the family. Highly recommended as well as a visit to the businesses downtown. Just take a stroll and be amazed by the variety of stores and the lovely Victoria Hall.

i live in Cobourg and I am very proud of the beach and most people in the town. Seeing the review about abusive visitors strikes a cord for me regarding some of our more unwelcoming residents of Cobourg who feel it is their God given right to dictate and dominate who should visit and on what conditions. Maybe if the atmosphere was more friendly towards visitors they would be more willing to contribute to our community without imposing fees. If someone comes to our town and feels unwelcomed they will not want to support our business'. The beach is for everyone , and should be opened for use by everyone. It sends a negative signal to outsiders and discourage them from coming to Cobourg if they feel that they are not wanted. Ignore the comment made by selfserving people and come one and all.

Absolutely perfect way to spend a hot sunny day. There are splash pads for kids, bikesto rent, clean close washrooms and a great food stand. There’s also a fabulous ice cream shop near by.
PLEASE if you go, clean up after yourself to keep the beach beautiful.
NO pets on the beach at anytime, Cobourg by-law.

Hi, Dogs are not permitted on the beach. There is a detailed bylaw in regards to use of parks for clarity. 30.6d is helpful. There is a dog park in Cobourg though. There are signs up at the beach with all the things that are not permitted. I don't have a pic of that unfortunately (haven't found it online either strangely).

We got there around 9:00am and there was lots of parking. And we went to the beach July 7th at 11:00am and the water was too cold for my husband and I. There wasn’t many people swimming and alot of the people were in waist deep.

No barbecues are allowed and there were police patrolling when I was there as early as 10am. They will fine you over $100 fine if caught with a barbecue.
