I went snowshoeing here for the first time this winter and ended up returning just a couple of weeks later. I was part of a group of people who broke trail and shoed out from the beach parking lot and heading clockwise on the trail, before turning around and looping back. It was wonderful. The X-country ski trails looked well... More

We came on a Monday and the cross country trails were empty. The trails were groomed and easy to manage. We were blessed to see an owl and a woodpecker. The scenery was magnificent.

We went in the fall of 2016, it was the final operating weekend. It was pretty quite there on the campsites as the kids were already back in school It was quite crisp. There are racoons around the site, and they are quite brave. They came right up to us and were not even scared. There is a large trail... More

If I were asked what part of my camping trip to Silent Lake did I like best, I would come up with quite a few items. For one, the lake itself is beautiful and it is quiet, as no motor boats are allowed up here. My friends and I were able to canoe around the lake taking our sweet time... More

There is a $14.50 (CAN) fee for a permit per vehicle. There is 1 snowshoeing trail (3.5KM Beaver Pond loop) and 4 Cross-country skiing trails (these are color-coded and vary in length). Beaver Pond trail leads you to a look out over Silent Lake. Leashed dogs are allowed on this trail. Several of the yurts were rented for winter camping,... More

My friend and I went to the Silent Lake Provincial Park on October 15, 2016, located about 20-25 mn west of Bancroft, Ontario. What a beautiful experience! We hiked along the lake but did not do the full trail as it is 15km long and is supposed to take 6 hours. This estimate is about right as the trail goes... More

Silent Lake is found where the Haliburton Highlands meet the Kawartha Highlands and is beautiful - accessible but still natural and rugged. The small-midsize lake is silent because it is surrounded by protected park lands and prohibits any motorized use. The water is clear, there are some gentle rocky entries and smaller lake beaches along the shores, and you can... More

Went on the Lakeshore hiking trail today and was very impressed. Trail was well marked and took us 4 hours 15 min to complete going at a good pace. The area is beautiful with big old white pine trees and clean understory. We took our border collie with us and she loved it, lots of opportunities to swim and cool... More

I have been here many times for day visits. What a great and beautiful lake. IF you rent a canoe there are a few great little islands you can visit. The water is spectacularly clean and refreshing. A great park
