The Lighthouse Route begins at one of Nova Scotia's most photographed lighthouse, the Cape Forchu Lightstation. With over 160 lighthouses in Nova Scotia, the most of any other province in Canada, they have become a shared symbol of our culture! What a beautiful place and we are so happy we stumbled on to it. The rock formations were so interesting and even though the lighthouse was closed for the season, it was so worth visiting.

We went on a sunny day in July. You can see the Yarmouth harbour from the lighthouse. We took a walk on the Leif Ericson trail. They have a small exhibit in the lighthouse but you can't go to the top. If you go to...More

Loving beautiful landscapes and scenery this location filled all our senses. Beautiful blue skies, birds in the air, gorgeous sights in every direction. Another wonderful experience here in Yarmouth area. Loved it!

Yes!!! The lighthouse still works and is under control of the Coast Guard.

Yes!!, You can walk the trail and up to and around the lighthouse! If someone it there, they might let you have a peek inside, we are renovating. We open mid May.
