Location is fairly pleasant, though nothing special. However, waiting on a cold evening and seeing maybe 10cm of bore was exactly that. I don't know if the bore is highly variable, and we were just unlucky, but I'd prepare not to be at all excited,...More

Wonders of earth's geology -- the center had videos of the tidal bore phenomenon in several different parts of the world, which we watched as we waited for the real thing. A must do in Truro.

A small information centre with very helpful staff. We waited for the bore and saw it approach and flood the sandbanks. It wasn't enormous but it was still impressive.

The tidal bore has been a tourist attraction that has drawn me like a magnet. Each time I view this awesome quirk of nature, I am amazed. First the water is rushing down stream, then it swirls, and is going upstream. Absolutely amazing.

The world's highest tides occur in East Hants County and environs. The Truro viewing site in adjacent Colchester County does nearly as well. The benefit of the site is that it easily is accessible. Make sure you check online for the best tidal times otherwise...More

A hearty thank you to staff/county at the viewing centre for the flood lights that allowed us to view the tidal bore at 2300. It was amazing at night. The bird activity added to our enjoyment. They are in the process of adding some features...More
