Willow Ranch
About
A small guest ranch, where you can go for some amazing trail rides through the mountains. We offer lessons, liberty/horse whispering demos and trail rides. We also have some very great miniature horses to offer little kids their first horse experience. We also have a little shop on the ranch where you can find some great souvenirs and anything you could need and want as a horse lover. We have 4 guest cabins located in the middle of nature, the ranch is located only 2 minutes from high way 5, which makes it a perfect location for overnight stop or your dream horse holiday.

Discover Canada Tours organized this trip to the Willow Ranch for breakfast on the last day of a four day trip of the Canadian Rockies. It was like leaving the best for the last.

After checking out from our hotel in Valemount early morning at 7 am were driven down to the ranch a little distance away from the hotel. Real cowboys and horses were waiting for us. Willow Ranch is a real ranch with horses, donkeys, a breakfast kitchen, 2 bonfires, a broken down jalopy, and real cowboys and ranchers.

We started with a cup of black coffee and got a plate of hash browns, and a muffin with a cheese slice and a tomato slice. We had to serve ourselves directly from the open ranch kitchen which is run by the resident family. There were wooden tables and benches besides the kitchen and ranch house.

Then there was a session of lassoing, throwing, hammering a nail in to a log of wood, and some dancing. Everyone had a jolly time here with us learning to lasso and line-dance with our new friends from around the world. Even our dignified friend from Japan was enjoying doing the line dance.

They do have some cabins for lodging as well as a gift shop where you can buy some cowboy style stuff. They arrange horse riding trips on the mountain trails too.

My wife and I recently enjoyed the 4 to 5 hour trail ride at Willow Ranch. Steyn was our guide. Everyone at Willow Ranch made us feel welcome. We are not seasoned riders so the staff selected appropriate horses for us. The horses were amazing. Very good-natured and responsive. The trails are absolutely beautiful. Steyn was a terrific guide...very knowledgeable of horses and the countryside. His easygoing and friendly company really enhanced our enjoyment. One of our favourite memories of our 2 week tour of British Columbia. A sandwich lunch was provided part way through the ride.

Our family of 4 arrived at Willow Ranch one evening to stay in one of their cabins followed by a trail ride the following day. We are novice riders so we opted for a 2 1/2 hour custom trail ride to suit our level of experience. The stay in the cabin was very comfortable, and we even BBQd our dinner on a BBQ provided. The next day we were treated to an incredible trail ride through the mountains on well cared-for horses with an expert guide. This is a family run operation and they clearly care about their horses and their guests. We could not have felt more safe and confident about the guide, the horses they chose for each of our family members or the route we followed. The trail ride was a wonderful experience and we could not more highly recommend a visit to this charming ranch. We hope to be able to come back one day.

Fantastic ride through the mountains. My daughter and I had a fabulous trek on excellent horses, and guide. We were attracted to the philosophy of horsemanship that they use at Willow Ranch. The horses were good quality, chilled, very well cared for and riden in high quality and kind tack. They have very good rules for both rider and for the safety of their horses. Horses were well trained and over all a lovely place to be. The trek was stunning and had plenty of rest stops to let the horses catch their breath. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

We were treated to this once in a lifetime experience by Discover Canada Tours. The staff at the ranch are all very nice. We had barbecued hamburgers and veggie burgers. Their iced tea is really good. They showed us how to do lasso rope. Had line dancing as well. They have a small gift shop-had some neat , cool stuff for sale. We had a great time at the Ranch.

Great ride, helpful and informative staff, good briefing before the ride, with all safety taken into account. the staff took good care of everyone out on the ride. Horses well looked after. would highly recommend this ranch. Lovely complimentary iced tea and coffee after the ride, nice souvenirs. the ranch is located just outside the Jasper National Park, so cheaper than riding within the national park

Customer service is sadly lacking at these rental cabins. The road to the cabins from the Ranch is full of deep and wide potholes which make it more suitable for a truck than a saloon car.I feel the gentleman on reception became progressively defensive when issues were raised. The removal of the smoke detector from
our bedroom was very concerning and posed a potential safety risk. ( We were not advised of that risk)

Thank you for your feedback, we always appreciate that :) Again we’re very sorry for your bad experience with us. It is really important to us that all our guest have an awesome time with us and we always do our very best to achieve that. As your concerns weren’t something we, unfortunately, could immediately address and change we offered you (per your request) a full refund after checking in. You decided to not take us up on that offer, and as mentioned before we couldn’t change the problems you had on the spot (which is what we like to do) other than explaining to you that they are and how they are being solved. In all honesty we don’t know what we could’ve done more to make your stay more pleasant.
