Best Air Museum Ever!
Mar. 2021
We thought it would be very nice on a rainy day to visit an attraction in Sidney. Have not been to the museum in a long time and wanted to see what had possibly changed in the last 15 years. WOW is all I can say! So many excellent exibits and the varries eras of flight were very well placed. Alex, our personal guide knew everything about all of it. Was very pleasant, as all of the volunteers were, and spent over an hour giving us answers and knowledge on it all. Best day in a museum EVER. Highly recommend it to everyone, especially younger kids that should see what these airmen had to fly in during the wars etc. Real eye openner!

Visit to the Museum
Mar. 2020
My husband is the Aircraft enthusiast so we decided to go to this museum. I am very glad I agreed, the museum is very interesting, but the people that work/volunteer there are amazing people. They are genuine and kind individuals, their passion for the history in the museum is like none I have ever experienced before.

So much to see!
Sep. 2020
I toured the museum in September as part of a group. The tour guide was informative, responsive to questions and entertaining. The exhibits cover the history of aviation in the 20th century with a focus on British Columbian and Canadian aircraft. There are planes, lots of them, tens ofunmounted engines in various stages of dress, helicopters, innumerable model aircraft and a good collection of memorabilia related to aviation in the First and Second Wars. This would be a fun tour with children. I climbed the stairs into a late '50s Viscount airliner, looked into the cockpit of a jet trainer, and was impressed by the huge size of the museum's latest restoration project, a Lancaster bomber. Don't miss it!

This is a really nice museum. I have recommended it many times. Children and adults alike find it interesting. The volunteers are so knowledgeable, kind and friendly and the price of admission is very good. We went to the open house there and it was fabulous. Well worth the visit.

Museum Visit
Oct. 2019
I visited the museum on the 6th October 2019. The museum consists of 2 hangars , a renevation area and an outside apron. The hangars are pretty full of aircraft, the lighting is okay, but could be a bit brighter to help with photography. There are volunteer guides who will take you on a guided tour. You will need one of these guides if you wat to visit the aircraft stored outside, as those aircraftare pareda sall concrete area tatis on te airport itsef. The museum is in the process of renevating the cockpit section of a Lancaster, the body of the aircraft can be foud in hangar 2. Outside theyhave a Viscount airlinertat you can goiside and take photographs The museum is worth a visit and is reasonably priced. The museum caters for children as well. Finally, the museum has a gift shop as well for you to buy souveniers.

Visited with 5, 9, and 11 year old grandchildren

Always enjoyable, interesting for all, even when boys were younger. Reasonably priced, $16 for the 3 boys and one senior Great volunteer guides, many of whom were pilots or crew, who take time to relate interesting background about the planes, exhibits, to the children. Very interesting for adults too! Planes of varying vintage, plus three flight simulators which the boys were fascinated with!

Always a great experience

Took a buddy of mine today to celebrate his birthday. I haven't visited in a few years, nor had he, so we took our time marvelling at the exhibits. One always learns something new each time you go and today was no exception. Lyle, our volunteer docent, was a wealth of information and took us into the restoration area to view a work-in-progress Lancaster bomber. The Merlin engines were enormous and the goal is to get the beast to fly again. Later we toured the TCA VIscount cabin and saw how much LEGROOM has changed in 50 years. The photographs were informative and the model aircraft well displayed around the walls with some beautifully restored vintage aircraft in the center of the two hangars. YOu need to look "UP" or you will miss lots. Great for kids of all ages

Well worth a visit for all aircraft enthusiasts
Sep. 2019
Visited them before flying out of Victoria airport. Got shown around the site by Robbie, who provided lots of anecdotes. Also got to see what the team is doing restoring an Avro Lancaster. Great collection of scale models (in the 1000s) donated from an deceased hobbyists collection. Also a good collection of real aircraft. Overall, a great visit.

This is a small museum well worth visiting if you are an airplane buff or enjoy Canadian history. Great for kids. I spent about an hour and enjoyed my time here. Displays were interesting and well presented. It is located near the airport.
