You can park your car at the Michell Farm Stand (just off the highway on Island View Rd.) and ride the Lochside Trail to Mattick's Farm. Takes about an hour each way at a leisurely pace. The trail is flat and an easy ride for...More

We tried to rent bikes right at the beginning of the Galloping Goose trail, which connects you to lochside trail. But guess what??? Cycle treks bike store is CLOSED on holidays!!! Even in summer, the busy season. So we walked into town and rented at...More

I use this trail every work day. It's even better since North Saanich repaved their portion and Central Saanich covered the stone path with asphalt. In BC many of the sidewalks are incorporated with the road (ei. no curbs but a white line).

I'm a senior and do a lot of walking but not much cycling (so far this year I've only been out once!) . So tackling the Lochside Trail was scary- it shouldn't have been. Perfectly flat (well there were a couple of very easy slopes)....More

The Lochside trail goes from the BC ferry terminal at Swartze Bay to join the Galloping Goose trail in Victoria. Mostly following an abandoned rail line, it is essentially level the entire way. Great cycling or walking. Because it crosses numerous roads you can join...More

This trail is both paved and hard packed so works for all kinds of bikes and walkers. The scenery is great, no car traffic and restaurants along the way. You can go from Sidney to Sooke and take side trips if you like

I have done this trail several times, when staying on vacation around Victoria. Typically we hire bikes from the shop at the centre of Victoria and then head off, to follow the Galloping Goose trail and/or the Lochside Trail. The Lochside trail is about 3...More

Lochside Trail goes all the way from Sydney to Victoria and joins the longer Galloping Goose Trails. The nice walk starts at the Sydney pier and meanderings along the shore south towards Victoria. At parts, you have to either walk on the beach or face...More

Very nice ride from BC Ferries to Victoria. Some road riding but most has a bicycle lane. All is very flat and can be ridden by even the most novice riders. Ties into the well laid out bike routes in Victoria and the wonderful Galloping...More

There's a lot info (including photos) on-line. Since I can't post a reply here that contains website links, I can only recommend you do a Google search for "Lochside Regional Trail".
