Captain Ron always makes sure that the experience is amazing. It was fantastic! I loved getting involved and setting up traps, helping put them out and generally being part of the process. The trip itself is the experience, being on the water, learning and seeing porpoises; however, it’s pretty exciting to take away crab, prawns and cod to enjoy a seafood feast at home.
Thanks, Captain Ron!

Captain Ron has a unique experience waiting for anyone wanting something out of the ordinary. Our party of 7 had a great time setting prawn and crab traps, watching the local wildlife, and fishing. Everyone from the least experienced to the most experienced learned something. Our party took home over 14 pounds of prawns, a pile of crabs, and caught several species of fish. We'd do it again in a heartbeat! Thanks Captain Ron!

Had a fantastic day out on Captain Ron’s 42’ fishing vessel. We learnt how to set prawn and crab traps…it was awesome. We went mooching for cod and came away with a beautiful 10lb ling cod. We saw a couple transient Oracs and harbour seals sunning on the rocks. There were 6 of us and we took more so much seafood for our dinners but, more importantly, we spent an amazing day out on the water with each other, Captain Ron and his hard-working, kind, deckhand, Jo. So much fun and such an adventure.
Reminder…don’t forget sunscreen even if you think it’s not that sunny!

A good day on the water in the Gulf Islands. Great catch of Spot Prawns and Crabs and some interesting conversations about the region.

We did the deadliest catch excursion and were successful in catching lots of prawns and a number of crabs. Captain Ron, and his second hand Bill, were great - they provided lots of information about the area, fishing, and history of the boat. They showed us how to set and retrieve traps. This was a great adventure for our family - we enjoyed the experience and got to take home our catch!

Highly recommend for families and people looking for adventure and more than just a sight-seeing excursion!

Overall we had a good experience— we really enjoy trips like this where you set some traps because even if you don’t catch some fish, you’ll likely come home with something. We came home with lots of prawns and some crab, but no luck fishing. The vessel is great. It was a wonderful day on the water.

With a few changes the tour would be outstanding. Mainly, things weren’t that organized so everything took a while to do. We set a ton of traps, but maybe we could have spent more time fishing and less setting traps. What was advertised as a 6-7 hour tour ended up being about 11 hours. I couldn’t really tell if our lack of luck fishing was just a bad day or a less than optimal guide. Lunch was a hotdog— no chips or anything, just a hotdog. It was just a lot of little things like that that probably seem high maintenance, but they kept the day from being truly outstanding when it absolutely has all the potential to be perfect.

It was amazing! Last year (september 2019) we did a whalewatching tour with Ron. We asked for some 'quality time' with the killerwhales. And thats what we got. He gave us the incredible moment when a killerwhale suddenly approached our boat. We saw the whole family, it was fantastic. The boat is very comfortable and with Ron as a driver we got some backgroundinformation of the killerwhales and hear their sonar with the hydrophone. We reccomendate booking a tour at SeaKing Adventures! Regards a Dutch family.

I was really impressed by the reviews on here so booked on the company website last week. We only had 1 full day in Victoria and were really keen to make sure we had the best opportunity to see whales during that day.

We based our day around being at Fisherman's Wharf in time for the 2pm booking and were there in good time. Unfortunately it quickly became evident that despite taking my payment and sending 2 emails confirming payment had been received and 1 reminder to be at the wharf on time, Ron was not going to show up.

I emailed the company and used the phone at the fish and chip shop on the wharf to leave a message on his answer phone, but received no response. Eventually we left, but by this time it was too late to try and book with a competitor.

That evening, once back on wifi, I sent a couple more emails requesting a refund and explaining our disappointment. I received an email back the following morning from Ron blaming the Harbour Authority for closing his business. It's just a shame he still allowed bookings to be made as if he hadnt we would have been able to book with Eagle Wing.

A photo of Ron's reply to me is attached.

Such a brilliant experience and I feel lucky to be able to witness and see a few pods of Orcas in the wild, they were beautiful. Even though we caught a few rain showers in the ocean it didn't dampen the experience. Ron was awesome and very knowledgeable. I'd definitely recommend this experience.

We had an amazing tour! We saw everything as described. Captain Ron is very experienced and explained a lot about the sea and it‘s wildlife.
Booking and paying via Internet was easy.
The Boat is small, but fast and sitting next to Ron gave the experience an intimate, familiary touch.
We would definitily return for a tour, also recommend it to our friends and family.
Thank you for the great day Ron!
