We were there in September 2017 as part of a boat trip. The people were so warm. Presented their work in the hall, a man played my body and soul bagpipes, a man stood on the pier with his vintage car. We were allowed to take pictures and sit in his car. A car had stopped because he thought we were trying to cross the street. It was a warm city. We felt so much peace, calm and joy. Had the feeling we had arrived. We still talk very often about the warm, loving encounters there. Just sooo beautiful.

A beautiful, well maintained and peaceful place. The views of the ocean and barrier islands never cease to amaze. The flowers and shrubbery all along the 2.5 km walk are absolutely wonderful and the walkways are clean and inviting to all including the mobility challenged as mobility scooters are welcome everywhere.

The Sidney Pier was a pleasant area to spend an hour and explore, photographing the lovely area, and looking for sea glass! Yes, this beach is adorned with sea glass (and lots of people are hunting for it!) We found the walk from parking to the beach very easy. One can enjoy the sites without stepping onto the beach. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. But, the highlight is the wonderful breezes from the sea and the sound of seagulls!

I love this spot. My husband and I go crabbing there almost once a week. There are benches to sit on, railings to lean on. Seagulls, jellyfish, cormorants fishing. Some people go hook-and-line fishing there. Lots of interesting people asking questions.

A wonderful walk along the waterfront on a warm Sunday afternoon in March with amazing views across the water all the way to snow capped Mt Baker.
The cherry blossoms are out on the trees in the many small parks that dot the breakwater walking path.
We parked far enough to the south to enjoy a long walk to the pier, and a little beyond.
There is a very tiny beach on the north side of the pier that has a very interesting history and if you're into collecting "beach glass", well, there's no shortage of it here.
There are coffee shops and restaurants all around the area.
The paved path is also very dog friendly you just need to remember to bring bags to pick up after your pet.

This dock is well known for its crabbing and we participated in that activity - so much fun!! We were lucky to grab 6 of them! While the boys were crabbing, I walked around the sea wall and enjoyed the ocean before me. It is a beautiful spot and close to some really neat shops in Sidney!
Oh if you want to try your hand at crabbing, you will need a BC Tidal license - to get that, go to the Home Hardware store in town.

Lots of people were fishing on the pier. It is a great place to watch the sunsets. You might see a seal or two.

Where you can experience the beach, looking for shells, going kayaking, lochside Trail is partially got paver stones, super for scooters, walkers.
It's got the pier around it you have benches to sit up top to admire the fantastic views, boaters, children playing on the beach, maybe u might catch a whale going by, maybe!
Great in any weather.

Sidney Pier has been quite frustrating for me. It has an ideal location almost at the waterfront in Sidney. The big windows and excellent lighting and decor are very attractive.
Regrettably, the food has been disappointing at times. We have eaten at Sidney Pier many times since it opened. The menus have changed- sometimes up-market and sometimes down-market- it is hard to know what to expect. The live music is a nice touch but I have often found the music either inaudible or intrusive- rarely complementary to the dining experience.
Despite the waterfront location, the seafood offerings have never been first- class. The food is mostly mediocre. Sidney Pier could and should do better.
