Fantastic place to watch the Salmon go up the river. There is a fish ladder with underwater video and you can also see the fish trying to jump the waterfall. The campground is nice and roomy with lots of privacy.

Lovely place to visit. It is peaceful and natural. Took pictures with the natural beauty. It is indeed a nice place to visit, especially in summer

Wear good walking shoes, boots when it rains. Watch out for very slippery rocks if you are venturing off the path. Can be quite dangerous for everyone if you get close to the river.

People talk of the salmon jumping the falls, I will tell you of the POWER of the river, standing on the end of the fish ladder with the grating under your feet and in front of you is the river rushing and pounding by, the colours and the sounds were incredible. You can not explain the awesomeness of the water... More

At the park, we witnessed the salmon run with lots of salmon trying to jump upstream! We also spotted a black bear further downstream at a comfortable distance. Beautiful place overall, a must-see for any trip to Vancouver Island!

What a beautiful park to visit if you are in the Port Alberni area. We visited on a sunny day on Thanksgiving Weekend. The fish were everywhere in the water trying to get upriver. There was a lovely path along the river with many overlooks, and a place where you could walk on the iron grid and see the fish... More

We went here to watch the salmon jumping up the river to spawn. We were amazed at how many we saw and how exciting it was seeing them try to jump up the rapids. Really quite an amazing place.

The gorge and falls in this park are very scenic but when the salmon are running up the river it is truly a natural wonder. Imagine a ferocious water fall and rapids with salmon leaping high out of the water in their attempts to make it up river to spawn, while hundreds more mass at the bottom waiting to make... More

This was one of our favourite places to be. Stamp River Falls were amazing. Tons of salmon and one lone bear looking for them. Easy walk. Would go again and again.

This is totally worth the drive! We saw quantities of salmon unlike anything we'd ever seen before. We met people who explained to us that the run was very small compared to other years. I can't even imagine what that would look like. The walk to the falls is very easy.
