We visited this park in hopes to see salmon and we weren't disappointed. There are a couple of viewpoints where you can see the salmon "resting" before jumping the falls. While we were there we witnessed salmon jumping up the falls and some others using...More

The Stamp River fish ladder and the Stamp Falls is an amazing thing to see the fish are trying to get up river to spawn. And they can jump the falls or come up the fish ladder.

Even if you are just passing through, it is worth driving in and walking the 200m to the fish ladder and waterfalls. Be sure you walk up to the video station and take advantage of the viewing overlooks above. The view back to the falls...More

The drive there was interesting with older homesteads in valley setting. Fish ladder and falls were breathtaking. Worth the trip.

a lovely place to visit and spent good quality time. A bit scary with long trees but ok for couples without kids

The falls here are truly a sight to behold. Definitely worth the drive out from Port Alberni. Great hiking trails are available but if you just want to see the falls there are fairly accessible via a short network of well maintained gravel paths.

To see Pacific salmon, scaling falls, and fighting a roaring river, just to procreate, is one of nature's treats. A must see, far better than any man-made zoo. Your kids will thank you!

Many campsites right on the river bank. If you like hiking, be prepared to walk some very hilly areas (both down and up). Quite steep trails to most hiking areas. Beautiful river, and the falls and fish ladder area (not very far from the campground)...More

Love this gorgeous place. You can watch a live TV screen showing the salmon going through the counter/fish ladder. It's really fun to watch the different sizes and species. Watch for bears on the far riverbank looking for a fish dinner.

Yep, exactly what they said ^^, the road from the entrance to the parking lot is unpaved but solid. It does get pretty dusty behind the vehicles :) Beautiful area!

It takes 3 hours to drive from Victoria to Port Alberni. From Port Alberni to Stamp River Falls another 20 minutes. If you are camping, it is a wonderful place to set up right along the river. Beautiful and peaceful... More
