We LOVED our Slocan Valley ride, expertly supported by John. I would highly recommend Kootenay Cycling Adventures if you are traveling to this spectacularly beautiful part of the planet. John was great with regard to communications, covering all of the bases and being friendly and helpful with suggestions for visits in the area,

Kootenay Cycling Adventures was the perfect way to get out cycling for us. John offers a private 4 day Kootenay Loop tour through magnificent scenery. The combination of the road and rail trails was wonderful. The hotels he uses are excellent, his snack stops are well timed with nourishing treats and his lunches are delicious. And his congenial personality rounds out a 5 star experience. We rented Ebikes from John which ramped it up to a 10 star experience for us. We can highly recommend John and Kootenay cycling

My husband and I decided we wanted to try a multi day cycling tour and after some research decided on the spectacular West Kootenays. John from Kootenay Cycling was great to arrange our bike and gear rentals with. He was knowledgeable about the area and provided some cues for scenic stops along the way. Thanks again for supporting our ride

My daughter and I decided to give Kootenay Cycling Adventures a try for a morning's activities. It was a great choice. We chose the electric bikes and cruised our way to the bakery where we enjoyed a scromptious cinnamon bun. The ride was scenic and quiet - not much traffic at all. The best feature of the trip, though, was the host/owner, John. He made sure we were at ease with the operation of the electric bikes and was a great conversationalist throughout the run. We enjoyed the trip so much, we decided to participate in a multi-day ride next year. We highly recommend Kootenay Cycling Adventures.

Thank you for your review! I'm glad you were able to experience the "Bun Run" on our new electric bicycles and taste the mouthwatering cinnamon buns at the other end. It's a great teaser for our multi-day West Koot Loop! John

Just finished a great 3 day cycling trip. John was an excellent guide and I am very grateful for his recommendation of an Ebike for me. I was cycling with my husband and daughter who are both experienced cyclists so it was fun to be able to keep up with them but still have the option to physically challenge myself if I really wanted to. The latter was a necessity given all the delicious snacks and meals provided on the tour. Thank you John for giving me a new motivation to travel by bike. I would highly recommend this tour plus using an Ebike if you are at all worried about your fitness level or cycling experience.

We had a great time with John and Kootenay cycling adventures. It was a challenging ride, well organised and John was a great guide. He made everything easy and went the extra mile to make our time on and off the bike a great experience.

We had a great three days cycling around the Kootenays with John. Everything was very well organised, the bikes were great. The scenery is beautiful and the riding is good - enough for a good challenge but also easy enough that any relatively fit cyclist can do it. Plenty of water and good food. Definitely a great way to see an area in Canada that is not overrun with tourists but still beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

John organized a cycling trip for our group and I would rate the experience as A+! John booked the hotels and restaurants, provided routes, signage for rest stops, etc. The coffee shops he selected for breaks were fantastic as well.
One very nice surprise were the photographs John took from different vantage points. He was very flexible with pre-trip requests and last minute changes.
The route has spectacular vistas: lakes, mountains, rivers, farm land, etc. John provided detailed maps before and during the trip.
If you're thinking of biking in this area, I'd highly recommend Kootenay Cycling adventures!

John Bowden, Chief Cyclist at Kootenay Cycling Adventures was exceptional. He was a pleasure to work with in coordinating our group and supporting us for 3 days of pleasurable road riding and epicurean delights. Our dinner and overnight at Lemon Creek Lodge was a real treat. He always provided 150%, much more than we had expected. For enjoyable riding in a scenic setting along lakes and rushing rivers, it’s a 3 day adventure not to be missed. Definitely worth a second trip one day soon.

You can't go wrong choosing this trip. The roads are good, views tremendous and the support offered by John at Kootenay Cycling Adventures outstanding. Departure is from Nelson, BC, with the first leg to Kaslo, next to Lemon Creek, and then the final day's return to Nelson. John provided the logistics and support throughout, including at the rest stops he'd selected at convenient points throughout. He knows the region well, so hotels, meals and coffee shops met with the approval of the 7 riders in our group. Highly recommended. We'll be back!
