The museum is very interesting. The Art gallery portion was not open when we visited but the Museum itself and the gift shop make it well worth a visit. If you are 'into' Museums, give yourself a little extra time to view all the exhibits.

The historical displays are informative and well-designed, covering natural history, First Nations and recent history. The art gallery shows vary seasonally, but are always thought-provoking and often feature local artists and local subjects.

Housed in a wonderful heritage building, Touchstones offers a gift shop filled with fine locally made arts and crafts. The exhibits are always interesting and well put together, and staff are friendly and helpful. If you're visiting Nelson, it needs to be on your agenda.

Got rained out of skiing so wandered around Nelson. Fun town. Great restaurants. Stumbled across this Museum. Very informative. Lovely gift shop. Great way to spend an afternoon.

We really enjoyed this museum. It is small and well-done. Good for an hour or two of local history and two local artist exhibits.

If you are a history buff and like reading a lot of content the history exhibit is for you. Two changing art galleries highlight local artists.

We stopped here on a Saturday in September. Unfortunately there was another event going on offsite that required the museum to close the history part of the exhibits. We were only able to visit the two small galleries. However it was a well presented display...More

This museum provided an excellent overview of the people and circumstances that built Nelson into the city it is today. Exhibits were well-presented and interesting. As a bonus, there are two areas with changing art exhibits included in your (very reasonable) admission fee.

Very knowledgable about the history of Nelson, we enjoyed it a lot. The art exhibits, in my opinion were lame and not worth the time to look at them.
