Stay away from this city. Don't spend your money there. Unhumane low life police officers. Let me out in the middle of no where. I was cold and without a jacket. They are to serve and protect? They are only there to serve themselves. I suggest no one should visit this sinking town. Let it sink. Officer pxnnxr doesn't deserve a uniform of a police officer. He deserves a uniform of a janitor.

The Merritt Information Centre is located on the grounds of Baille House. My sister and I were geocaching in the area and one we were searching for took us to this historic site. The Nicola Valley Heritage Society welcomes visitors to Baille House during the months of May to September. Before touring the grounds, we asked the volunteer about geocaching and where we could find the necessary document to record our finds. She was very helpful about geotourism in the area and provided us with two volumes containing great information about geotourism adventures in Gold Country. She indicated that a third volume is being published and would be available in the near future. The grounds are well maintained and is dotted with large shade trees, colorful flowers, tables, chairs with an old-fashioned buggy sitting in one corner of the yard. After touring the house, barn, store and storage garage, we continued on our geotourism adventure.

Sorry but the visitors centre was closed, at least when we stopped in. Thus, no review , it probably hasn’t do with the current pandemic. A Visitor centre is after all, a one on one experience and it’s more difficult to achieve thru plexiglass

Nice little visitor centre. The nice lady that greeted us had a pot of coffee on the go. She provided us with all the information we need for our visit.

Very friendly and helpful. Good info. Nice prices on donated goods for this non profit visitor center. Interesting history of the house and surrounding buildings.

My boyfriend and I have been to this visitor center several times and each time we have been greeted by friendly staff. This visitor center has a lovely garden where we sit and eat lunch in the sun. They offer a free beverage; a glass of lemonade, a tea or a coffee. What I love is the ice cream. This centre also sells great little souvenirs and has a great selection of maps.

The Visitor Center that was situated on the highway was shut down permanently and it directed us here. Wonder why it got shut down! We used to visit there....
Although this one got shut down, it was newer and bigger, the direction brought us to a even better Visitor Center inside the town of Merritt.
It's inside a house that was built in 1912, full of the "old taste", filled with excellent, friendly staff / volunteers. They were very knowledgeable of the surroundings, gave us whatever information we needed, served us cold or hot drinks and what was best was the cookies baked by a Japanese lady volunteer! She could have opened her own bakery! What I also like was, their hospitality. They made you feel like you're home and first thing they told us after greeting us was: the washroom / toilet is here (showing us)!!! They really understand that some might have traveled a long way and needed it urgently!!
This visitor center has many collectibles for sale as well. Prices are also relatively cheap! Remember to visit downstairs as well.
The Ballie's house, built in 1913, is located next door. Free tour of the house is also given. We were glad to have taken this tour as we saw and touched many of the "old" things. I wouldn't go into the "story" of this house. I'll leave it for you to find out.....It really brought us back in time! The barn and the horse carriage were also a neat thing!
Very enjoyable as a whole, visiting this Merritt Visitor Center!
We now prefer this place to the one that was shut down and would recommend friends to visit here.......
Once again, thank you to the staff / volunteers of this center!
