There is a parking lot very near the start of the tunnels. The walk through the tunnels is not far but very impressive. You can do the walk without flashlights but it is so much nicer if you have a flashlight. Just before you go in the first tunnel there is a nice spot to sit on rocks and have... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the 1.4 km one way/ 2.8km return along the old railway bed, bridges and tunnels. The walk takes you through a lovely wooded area then along the impressive Coquihalla Canyon. That trains ever ran through the sheer sided gorge is a testameant to the engineering skills and sheer determination of those early railroad builders. Some informative signage relates... More

Love the walk to the tunnels. The scenery is beautiful. Lots of tourists. You can walk all the way to the end about an hour or just see the tunnels.

As I have family near here I have done this walk several times, You can either park at the tunnel end or the hope end, its a nice walk and dependent on river flow you can get some nice views from the bridges at the tunnel end. Easiest way to get to the tunnel end car park if heading east... More

I had only seen a few photos of the tunnels themselves, I didn't know upon going there how gorgeous the rest of the scenery was going to be. Well worth the stop.

We stumbled across the Othello Tunnels after taking a wrong turn out of Hope. We are very glad we did though. The walk down to the tunnels takes about 15 minutes and it's well worth it. The gorge that has been carved out of the rock is truly spectacular. The tunnels themselves are also very impressive and it's good fun... More

We really enjoyed a morning walk thru the tunnels with our kids after checking out of our Motel in Hope. Our kids learned so much about the history of the former railway reading all the info boards. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys walking and passing thru the area.

I go here a few times a year and it's one of my favourite spots in the lower mainland. Bring a lock as they have started a lock collage on the fence in one of the tunnels! Beautiful scenery.

On a sunny October Sunday my wife and I and more than fifty others strolled through the Othello Tunnels drilled through the rocky mountains surrounding Hope, B.C. Built to transport the silver mined in the area they are an engineering marvel and tribute to early 20th century railroading. The surrounding scenery is spectacular: sheer cliffs, lovely rapids, beautiful old growth... More
