I went with my wife and two kids, 12 and 13 on the Whitewater Express tour. It was our first time white water rafting, not quite sure what we were in for, and we were a little nervous going into it with our kids; but they were so good teaching us all what to do beforehand and encouraging our kids. Very thorough instruction before you hit the water, pre-bus ride, on the bus and shoreside. Then the first stretch of water is calmer and your guide runs through your paces and makes sure everyone is comfortable with the guide's instructions and working well together. Then it's a ridiculously fun ride down the river. In the end it was an amazing experience and the kids probably did better than mom and dad. You should probably just go for it :)

Please read and understand the cancellation details. I booked the gentle rafting trip (Sept 2020) and on the night before I came down with a low grade fever and fatigue. Doing the right thing I called to cancel first thing in the morning in order to protect everyone and stay away. I was advised to the policy that there is no refund under 48 hours as they could not rebook the spots.
Please beware for those taking this trip that for people not willing to take the financial hit if they get signs of illness that they may not do the right thing to stay away and go anyways putting people at risk.

We have rafted twice with Alpine and both trips were fantastic. Staff are friendly and well organized, our guide made us feel safe. Lunch was provided in our trips and the food was fresh, well prepared and waiting for us. Beautiful views with an adrenaline rush! We will be back!

This was my first time, my partners second time, and we had an absolute blast. They take care of you from start to finish, you just need to show up, that’s it. Friendly knowledgeable staff who are clearly good at what they do made this a comfortable fun experience. The water was cold of course but the neoprene suits made it just fine. I fell in the water (but I kinda wanted to); our guide put us sideways into a rapid and I went over, all was good and she planned it for me lol. We were taught how to retrieve a person from the water prior to this so it was all in good fun. Rapids were easily maneuverable for first time rafters, but still fun. Trip was 2-3 hours long, plenty of time on the river. Bus ride there and back was fine, not that far at all from town, we even got some food at the end and we were able to sit in the hot tub at the hotel upon our return to town. Highly recommend.
Cheers

I was mildly terrified to go on this raft trip after I talked to a local in a coffee shop in Golden. But now that I went on the full day trip I am kind of laughing at how nervous i was..it is SO MUCH FUN! I was not scared in the slightest and I am not an adrenaline seeker or have a particular fondness to roller coasters (which some reviews compared it to). Alpine Rafting is a good, safe pro operation. Our guide Chris was AWESOME... funny yet took his job seriously and explained everything very clearly. My 16 and 14 year old LOVED it too. Highlight of our visit in Golden. A MUST DO. The only problem was that we wished it lasted longer cause it is that much fun. You don't want it to end. Don't even think 2x about doing this raft trip. Book it...NOW!

Our Kicking Horse River adventure was great! Great staff - informative and humorous. Excellent equipment - the wet suits were washed and sanitized between river trips. The Express in the afternoon was advertised as 1 hour 15 minutes on the water, and was more than that. The price was right - and the clear sky day was stunning.

Many thanks,

Hello! Our 2018 season will come to an end on September 9th. After that, the water is too low to safely navigate the rapids.

Hey Oliver. Actually, Wild Water Adventures start at the same place as Alpine does, so they are not, in fact, the "only" company to start there. Wild Water was there before Alpine, actually...just so as you know the truth. Thanks!

Hi Oliver! Every company that rafts on the Kicking Horse starts in a different location along the Kicking Horse River. We are lucky enough to be the only company that starts our morning trip in Yoho National Park - further up river from everyone else. If you have any other questions, please call us anytime at 1-888-599-5299.

We have booked a rafting tour with you for 8 June, I noticed that on one of the reviews they mentioned free camping. We will be travelling in a motorhome, will the camping facilities on your site be suitable or should we arrange to stay somewhere else?

We had planned on camping there last summer, but changed our mind at the last minute. We got a hotel because we were on a stag party, it was raining, and the camp site was supposed to be very rustic. However, for someone with a motorhome, it should suit you perfectly. I believe it is right on the river, and is essentially a big gravel parking lot. I don't believe there are any hookups.
