A fantastic find. Unfortunately everybody has found it. Parking has become limited. Never spaces. Large ethnic family gatherings taking over the whole beach area. No offense but it sure doesn't seem like locals use this area. Big BBQ's. Family and Group gatherings make it uncomfortable for couples. Still when it is quiet it is a great area to refresh your mind and enjoy the experience.

Nice beach to walk around or even swim in. Unfortunately I didn’t bring my bathing suit when I visited! Clean. Good for children. There are swings and play sets as well as water activities that you have to pay for. Nice to see the boats too. My only complaint is the $10/hr. for parking!

We arrived just before noon on a sunny Sunday. Lots of parking, space on the beach and trails to mosey without getting in anyone's way. Must have been there at low tide because the sand seemed to stretch forever. Children's playground, clean washrooms, and trails leading north through Boundary Bay Park and beyond. No wonder it's so popular.

Hideous crowds of selfish people behaving badly. Garbage, discarded food, abandoned plastic toys Rotting collections of clams, cigarette buts and broken glass strewn about decorated by masses of rude drunk people. You will have to arrive early7 am or circle the parking lot as if you were at Costco to experience this treat on a summer day.

Ever since this beach was featured on TV and newspapers as one of the best family beaches in the lower mainland it has become overcrowded on every summer weekend and most sunny week days. It is a fabulous beach and a wonderful place but there are so many people going there on hot days that it kind of spoils the experience.

PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE! Locals have complained and now there is no parking on any streets in Boundary Bay on weekends and holidays during the summer. The parking lot gets filled up VERY EARLY! If you are not there by 8:00 on a summer weekend, forget about going, unless you want to park at the Delta Rec Center and wait for the shuttle bus to take you there.

Every picnic table and shady spot will be occupied, the playground will be packed, and even thought when the tide is out the beach is very big, it can be very crowded.

So bottom line...
The beach is great, the kids playground awesome, the facilities super!

BUT crowds, crowds, crowds, so be prepared and don’t even think about trying to get a parking spot at the beach on weekends unless you get up at the crack of dawn!

It's a beautiful beach even when the tide is out. It can get crowded during the summer but still a great experience.

Centennial Beach use to be a wonderful, clean, peaceful beach with lots of wild life and great parking, now parking is a nightmare, the beach it self is over crowded with people and tents, dogs off leash and people taking wildlife off the beach even though there are signs EVERYWHERE saying not to remove wildlife and why it should be left alone. The garbage and cigarette butts left on the beach is so bad for the wildlife and environment, not to mention how dangerous it is when your walking along the beach and you step on hot coals that someone has dumped and buried in the sand! It’s very sad to me to see this happening to such a beautiful place.

Centennial Beach in Delta now attracts familiesw from neighbouring Richmond, Surrey & Point Roberts. It's a great place in summer but parking has become a nightmare. There is a cafetaria and public wash rooms.

You can walk out for 30 minutes (1 way) on the tide flats at low tide - great for bird watchers (Important Bird Area), eco-tourists (tidal flats biology); access to dyke trail for walking and cycling; great for family day trips; all amenities; free parking. What more can I say? You have to come to experience - can be busy in summer, especially on weekends - but great all year.

Excellent beach especially when the tide is low. One can walk towards the ocean for a few hundred metres.
