About
Ranked in Canada's Top 100 Courses, the Wildstone Golf Course is the first Black Knight Course by Gary Player Design to be built on Canadian soil. This incredibly well conditioned and player friendly course is set on the rolling highlands above the city of Cranbrook, BC where hole after hole golfers are treated to stunning postcard views of the Canadian Rockies. The course plays from 7,127 yards from the back tees and 4,947 from the front. The attention to detail in the design of the course is obvious. Generous landing areas from the variety of five tee boxes, closely mown green surrounds that allow for a variety of of short game options, well placed white sand bunkers and elegantly contoured greens that put a premium on approach shot accuracy are just some of the reasons that the course has received a 4.5 Star Golf Experience rating.Design: Black Knight Course by Gary Player Design Opened: 2011Par: 72 (37 Out, 35 In)Greens: A4/T1 Bentgrass Fairways: Kentucky Bluegrass.

- Trevor LaytonCoaldale, Canada1 contributionWildstone Golf CourseThis track is a must play for the area. In perfect condition green speed was spot on. Staff was excellent in looking after us couldn't have asked for a better golf trip. I highly recommend anyone travelling through to book a tee time and try this Gary Player design. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm glad that you enjoyed the course and that the staff were excellent to you. Look forward to having you back again, take care.Written August 3, 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2019Written June 24, 2020
- twysted2015Kelowna, Canada2,327 contributionsExcellent staff, and a good course in pristine conditionWe were camping at the KOA and it was my jumping point to all the best courses in the East Kootenays that I had heard about. Started my first game with Wildstone and it didn’t dissapoint. Clubhouse is small and things seem to be a work in progress, but the staff were friendly and accommodating, starter and course marshal were great, and they had me out right away with a power cart. Price point is very fair, tee boxes were level, course was groomed meticulously, sand traps were some of the nicest I have seen….although I was in them far too frequently. Greens were large but soft, as I buried two balls into the putting surface on approach shots. The rough is far more forgiving then what I am used to, and 5 balls I sprayed about ten feet into the trees I actually found and they were playable. Overall a very nice course and worth spending the time and money to go and play if you ever get the chance.Visited August 2022Written August 16, 2022
- SB BrownLundbreck, Canada130 contributionsA Worthy Challenge for any Skill LevelI play this course a couple of times a year and have always found it to be a wonderful and fair course with a nice variety of terrain and hazards. They have excellent practice facilities which never seems to be overcrowded and are kept in great shape. The course marshals are pleasant and helpful.Visited May 2022Travelled with friendsWritten May 19, 2022

If 4 (average golfers) would have known, we were expected to play this course in 3.5 hours or less we would have asked for a refund and gone elsewhere. Hounded by the marshal to speed up was not the Kootenay experience we were looking for. Finished in 4 hours. Card says 4.5 is average.

The greens are so undulating and so fast many great shots roll right off and it is almost impossible to 2 putt from anywhere. For mid to high handicappers this is not an enjoyable track.

Fairways were well maintained and greens were adequately defended. Staff were pleasant, food was fair and drinks were cold. My only complaint was the driving range being down hill. It's difficult to get a feel for distance when driving balls down a slope.

Good course in good condition however it has a couple gimmicky greens that we found totally unfair. Slowed play for the whole course.
Staff were good, play was slower.

We played with a couple of Canadians at another course who said you must play Wildstone. They were not wrong .So glad we did . The road in and facilities are not great but what a wonderful surprise when you get on the course . Friendly and helpful staff , and such a great great golf course. Beautiful fairways and greens . Can’t say enough except do your self a huge favour and take the time to play it .

We return each season for a few rounds of great golf. There are many options from super challenging to leisurely round to fit your golfing ability. The staff is super friendly . The course continues to improve every year and is in pristine condition.
Wildstone has a great driving range with a spectacular view of the Rockies. A beautiful chipping and sand practice green. The putting green is also large and well maintained. You could spend a few hours just practicing your game.
The course was pristine from every tee box , every fairway, the fringe, the cart paths all superb. The greens are large and challenging and well manicured. White soft sand bunkers. A great course all around.

In the 2015 trip advisor reviews, there is mention that the clubhouse/restaurant are in a portable. Is that still the case?
We are also booked to play the course in august. My confirmation e/mail mentions "ALL IN' food and drink package for $39.00. Can my wife and I share this? Does it include liquor? Can it be used throughout the day and in the restaurant post round?
The restaurant web site shows a limited menu for dinner, is there more than just what is listed? We would probably stay for dinner if there were more dinner type options to choose from.
Looking forward to your response.
