If you appreciate PNW indigenous art, this gallery is worth a visit. Whether you are actively shopping or “just looking”, the gallery has lots to offer with a wide variety of tasteful merchandise and helpful staff to assist you. Reasonably priced, they have merchandise to fit almost any budget . There are some very nice, unique pieces, however, I would not characterize the gallery as “high end” or “fine art”. Jewelry, clothing, carvings, prints, small sculptures, books, children’s items and more! You will be tempted!

If you're visiting the Comox Valley, this excellent gallery is a terrific spot to spend an hour or so. And with art and jewelry from well-known artists, hand-made moccasins, t-shirts, blankets, art cards and more, there's something for every budget. And the service is first-rate. My wife and I just purchased a ring for our daughter's birthday. When they didn't have the right size in stock, Ramona, the gallery manager, managed to get the artist to custom-make one for us on a very short deadline. Not only that, she also took care of FedEx-ing it to Chicago to arrive the day before the birthday. Truly exceptional customer service!

Excellent access point for indigenous art of quality. Local and other artists available, at fair prices, and staffed by experienced, knowledgable staff. Go there. We do, often.

I have been looking for a place where I could buy quality First Peoples’ art work and Canadian made clothing with North-west coast designs, and I have found it at I-Hos Gallery in Courtenay! I grew up on Vancouver Island, and now live in the United States but I will always keep the wonderful designs of the First Peoples of the North-west first in my heart and memory.
I just received two t-shirts that I purchased for my husband. The quality is wonderful and excellent fit. The designs have their meaning printed on the accompanying tags, and also the names of the artists.
Ramona originally helped me via email with questions I had, and then others helped with the packing and mailing. The shirts arrived in a timely fashion, in excellent condition - and with a personal note thanking me for my purchase.
You can be sure I will be making more purchases! Their gallery looks wonderful from the pictures in the brochure and also on face book. You can be sure if I get back to the ‘land of my youth’ I will be visiting them in person, but so glad they are bringing their gallery to me on line in the meantime.
I highly recommend I-Hos Gallery!

Wonderful, authentic and traditional items to gift to others or yourself. I purchased 2 carved silver rings and very happy with the assistance received and quality of the items, and the great price. From moccasins to masks, great selection and quality products.

A must-visit. I shopped I-Hos gallery and spent more time and money than I anticipated... but much less than I wanted to. While it's not huge, the more you look, the more you find to interest you - and there are gift ideas for just about everyone you'd want to buy for. From the amusing Sasquatch motif hats and t-shirts, to framed prints, beautiful leather purses and wallets, metal wall art, or home decor, jewelry, to carvings and masks - there's a variety of items that place it between a gallery and a gift shop. There are some beautiful artisan-created items. My spouse who really dislikes shopping really enjoyed I-Hos. The staff are insightful and very kind - never pushy. I found the sage and sweetgrass I wanted, but also a journal and a stunning sandblasted "Raven Mother" glass vase by Michael Forbes that I had to buy. My I-Hos wish list is growing... (I'm not kidding - I actually have a list)
