About
Wayward Distillery is a true craft distillery, situated in the fertile Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, and has led the charge in honey-based spirits since 2014. Each of our spirits are crafted on a base of sustainable honey, supporting local agriculture and getting a little Unruly while doing it! Honey is a delightful and sustainable resource, and we are proud to support BC agriculture at Wayward each and every one of our spirits is precisely designed to be sippable on their own and enjoyed in the tastiest of cocktails. We like how delicious our honey-centric spirits are, and we feel good about aligning our business with people who are also deliberate in their consumption choices, contributing to a healthy and diverse ecosystem. Welcome to our Wayward life, we invite you to join us in our pursuit to #BeeUnruly.

What a great ,informative tour of the distillation process and a splendid tasting of the products and some creative cocktails. Ask them why they only distil 26 times. You will love the answer. The only distillery I know that starts with pure honey and creates such interesting products from it.

Amazing visit. A must see if in Courtney. The staff was very friendly and informative. Such a cool concept - making spirits from honey. The raspberry gin is the most spectacular and an absolute must purchase. When COVID ends and the bar reopens, it will be even better to go have a cocktail.

This distillery was a surprising find! Off the beaten path but still right in town. They've got a lovely, inviting tasting room for sampling their products. My husband and I were thrilled to find out that they are making all of their spirits from honey. The vodka we tried was AMAZING! And I don't usually enjoy just straight vodka. We had a great time sitting, sampling, and chatting with the distiller and his wife. They were both super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It was a great experience and we definitely plan on bringing all our visiting family and friends here. Looking forward to their gin in the new year and all their vodka infusions! A definite "Must Visit" for visitors and locals alike!

My wife and I spend a lot of time touring around Alberta and BC. It was our first chance to stop in Courtenay, B.C. Once we arrived, we were not quite sure where to go from there. A nice older gentleman help point us in the direction of the Wayward Distillation House. This was sincerely one of the better moments of our trip as the people were great and the taste was even better! If I lived on the coast, these fine folks would have a Regular! Thanks for the hospitality! Cheers!

Wayward has a lovely tasting room, very friendly people and super yummy vodka and gin. What more could you possibly ask for! My favourite is their unruly vodka with 7up and pineapple. Can't wait to try their next tasty creation! I think the Wayward Distillery is a great addition to the Comox Valley. Keep up the great work.

Dropped in to try their Vodka and Gin. The idea of a locally distilled spirit intrigued me especially when the make their product from BC Honey. Most Spirits here in North America to the best of my knowledge is all distilled from grains to produce the sugars required for the process. Why not use honey. The Vodka i found to be very tasteful and genuinely unique. The Gin i found to be absolutely delightful, and delicious, especially seeing i have never been a big fan of Gin! I congratulated the owners on a wonderfully delicious product.

from the moment you park your car or bike you get it. Off the beaten path, unique and rich. Then you walk in, and wow. Beautifully set tasting area and a view of the manifacturing of the product. Vodka and Gin, done with a unique and original process. Truly worth the trip for us and a delight out of every drop.

I had the good fortune of being able to visit the distillery & sample their gin & vodka. I'm not normally a big fan of either but found them both very palatable & particularly good when mixed with tonic. I picked up a bottle of each to take home & share with friends who all agree thats it has a great taste.

Wayward distillation house was a great afternoon visit in Courtenay. We tried mead based vodka and gin, both were great!! The owners we very nice and informative, and we got a tour of the plant and a walk through of how both liquors are made.
We look forward for visiting them again soon.

I did a tasting and tour recently and thoroughly enjoyed both. It was both informative and tasty! I am no connoisseur, but it is the only vodka I have ever enjoyed on its own. Very smooth.
