Overview
More
Castlegar Sculpturewalk is an annual exhibition of outdoor sculptures, located on a pleasant walking tour in downtown Castlegar. Viewers are encouraged to vote for their favourite sculpture via ballot - the winner of the People's Choice award is purchased by the City for the permanent collections. All of the artworks are available for sale or lease. Sculpturewalk 2016 features 31 sculptures from local and international artists. Ballots/maps are located in red ballot boxes along the route (the start of the route is at the Kootenay Market (635 Columbia Avenue), though you can begin the walk from anywhere. Ballots/maps are also available at the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, or the Kootenay Gallery.

The sculpturewalk is an amazing display of sculptures and artwork from International artists. I like that we can get up close and sometimes interactive with them as well as get the opportunity to vote for our favourite.

It was sunny and it was warm so nice weather to make a walk through the town center of Castlegar where most of the statues are situated. It's not "breathtaking" but it sure nice to see if you are in town.
