We only had 2 nights in Campbell River and did a lot of fishing up the river itself just out of town for Pink Salmon which was amazing, plus a black bear came down to the river for a visit- a real highlight. Wonderful place to rent a rod....cast a line... and chat with other fishers. Karen was great.. lots of advice ... ice cream was tasty and the boat dock were open so we could walk around and get up close views of hundreds of working boats.

The closest place to the pier to purchase is at Tyee Marine fishing and outdoors shop. From there you can rent a rod by the hour and try to land yourself a salmon from the Salmon Capital of the World. All together I paid a little less than $30 for all of it. No pets or smoking on the pier. …
