I utilized this service for a water taxi ride to Refuge Cove in Desolation Sound to meet up with a boat. The boat was very clean, disinfected prior to departure, had hand sanitizer at the boat, provided a mask free and stowed my gear on board. We left on time and arrived exactly on the estimated time at Refuge Cove. The operator was friendly, outlined all the safety requirements, as required, and provided a professional service at a very reasonable cost. Very satisfied customer.

Went on this excellent boat tour looking for ales and other wildlife with Dave. We had a very interesting look on many lakes and creeks and around many Islands looking for wildlife. We saw many amazing Bald Eagles, in trees, in flight and fishing for food. We also saw seals, sea lions and orcas. perhaps the most entertaining sight was a sea otter which was basking n the sun in the middle of a vast expanse of water purely showing off! Dave was very enthusiastic and made our day very enjoyable.we were lucky that we were a small group which gave us easy access to both sides of the bat. a very worthwhile trip which we would thoroughly recommend.

Thank you for the review! Wow....Sea Otters are not a common sighting in our area...kind of like finding a unicorn! (maybe not that dramatic but still...) Thank you for choosing Adventure Quest, we are happy that you enjoyed the tour!

This company also offers a water taxi service called Quest Water Taxi in Campbell River! People use it to reach Savary Island or spots in Desolation Sound while we dropped off at Cortes Island. They offer a charter or scheduled option departing conveniently from the Discovery Harbour Marina. We highly recommend this company and were very impressed by Leigh and his team's professionalism, hospitality and flexibility. The boat is clean, comfortable and in great condition - looks new. Rates are very reasonable. It's a great option for a safe and scenic water taxi to destinations beyond Campbell River. Thank you Leigh!

Just Amazing experience. Our Captain and guide was David. If you spend 5 mins talking to him, you will know he knows his stuff. What I mean here is he not only showed us beautiful wildlife ( bear, seal, sea lion, eagles, birds, ORCA.... and humpback whale ) on the tour. He also shared the local history and what makes north Vancouver Island what it is now. He really cared about his customers and had a passion for local surroundings. He didn't care about the time , spending like 15-20 mins more to show amazing things on the whale watching tour. Lastly we have done a few whale tours - but nothing compares to the service David and Leigh provided us. From now on they would be out to go to person for any future wildlife tour on island..

We went with Adventure Quest at the end of the season in September. Dave skippered the boat, a covered aluminium boat so warm, and within 20 mins of leaving harbour introduced to the first of 11 encounters with Humpback Whales, some breaching, some slapping with fins. He showed us Seals, Sealions, Guillemots and a Bald Eagle. A truly excellent trip.

Spent a wonderful day on the water looking for humpback whales and other marine life. We were not disappointed.
Our guide, David Gauci was very knowledgeable about the area and our trip was smooth and relaxing. He must have eagle eyes to be able to spot a whale that far away. It was late in the season and many whales have started their journey home, but he was patient and his expert knowledge of their feeding habits , led us to a few whales, some seals and sea lions as well. We even got a rainbow .
Would definitely recommend whale watching again with Adventure Quest, ask for David to be your guide for the day.
We're going to come back in the busy season for some more awesome experiences.

Although we planned our trip well in advance, we wanted to book a whale watching tour on site. At the end of August, many tours were already booked and we didn't want to go on a Zodiac tour. After some research, we came across Adventure Quest and booked a 4-hour tour. There were 12 of us in a covered boat with an open area at the front and back of the boat. The tour was great and we saw lots (really lots) of whales. The animal was the priority and although the boat never got too close to the animals, we were able to observe some whales very closely. We were super happy!

My whale & wildlife boat tour with Adventure Quest was fantastic! Pilot and guide David was a wealth of naturalist info and also told us interesting stories about each island we passed. He found us humpback & orca whales, sea lions, seals, eagles having a feeding frenzy, a bear cub, and cool areas of unique water currents and stunning scenery. Small (10-12 passengers) but powerful boat, comfortable and warm indoor seating (SO nice on a drizzly day) with excellent views when underway, and a nice toilet. Not fancy-the boat doubles as a water taxi when not touring-but plenty comfortable, with both covered and uncovered outdoor areas for viewing when something fun is spotted. Did the 5 hr tour and I’m so glad, we were able to go to so many different areas and it was well worth it.

We followed a pod of Orcas as they raced through Discovery Passage. Then quietly watched a few Humpbacks cavorting off Marina Island. A short trip to Mittlenatch Island revealed the Stellar Sea Lions and California Seals sunning themselves on the rocks. There we discovered a snoozing Humpback waiting for the tide to rise and wash some prey off the rocks. All this accompanied by an informative and entertaining commentary by Dave. We and the kids were spellbound! Thanks for an amazing trip!

Thank you for your review! We have many guests that are not sure if they should bring kids on these tours, we find that 3 hours is just the right amount of time to make sure we can get to the whales and marine wildlife, but also that it is not too long where they get bored. Sounds like you had a great day with lots of sightings! Thanks again

Hello
Pacific Coastal Airlines has direct flights from Vancouver to Campbell River. We recommend that you come the day before as this trip is very difficult to do as a day trip from Vancouver. The boat departs Campbell River at 10:00 a.m. for the Grizzly Adventure, duration is 8 hours, and we provide lunch and refreshments. The best way to book is through the Grizzly Adventure page on our website. Thanks for your message, we would be happy to have you out with us!

Do you recommend the covered boat or the Zodiac? We are going in early August and I have quite a bit of camera gear I want to use.
Written May 20, 2017
Covered boat. You are protected from the rain and spray and when you spot whales you are able to go out on the front and back decks.
