Massive Mall! Holyyy! Definitely has everything one could need under one roof. Luv it. It’s located in beautiful Burnaby British Columbia as well, what’s not to love.

1. It’s not a luxury mall. It’s more casual and fun, great for families with kids as there’s quite a few toy or kid stores. If you do want more luxury items, a place like park royal in west van or the airport outlet might be better :)

2. Yes it’s overcrowded, beware of that. The crowds are not bad if you’re used to them, but I do understand how it can hinder your experience. For parking, I definitely recommend immediately looking for them underground. There’s normally near no parking above, and underground MIGHT be easier to find because it’s all connected.

3. There isn’t a lot of eating spots- most food is in the food court, which yes, is mostly Asian or fast food. However, right across the street from the main entrance (the side with the superstore entrance and movie poster) is a lot of restaurants- sushi garden is definitely a good one for any sushi lovers out there :)

It’s a casual mall with not a lot of specialities- I think the most special part of Metrotown is how many different Asian cuisines and shops you can find- a lot for hem are quite unique. For example, currently there’s a shop on the floor above ground level selling anime and manga goods, as well as a Chinese styled shop selling cute figurines on the main floor right next to Uniqlo- the likes of which I’ve never seen anywhere except for actually in China. Also lots of Asian brands like mini so and Uniqlo that are quite unique :)

Lastly, for people without a lot of Asian markets, I would definitely recommend going to T&T to pick up some Asian snacks. It’s a good experience, both cheap and fun :)

Hope you all enjoy coming to Burnaby!

A rainy day, thought I'd do some pre-Christmas planning. Saw a surprising number of people doing the same.
On the positive side: This is an extensive mall - the largest in Burnaby. Appears that just about every chain is represented. Lots of parking, surface and underground. Close to Skytrain and buses. Love the Food Court - always clean, always busy.
But, as hard as I try, can never that particular item that's just right for me or my loved ones.
Hope you have better luck if you decide to drop by,

Great shopping mall. Lots of shops and a food court. Has a mix of Canadian brands and franchises from around the world and to suit different budgets. You could spend many hours walking around all the shops, unfortunately I didn't have the time to do that. Still some vacant shops but some more opening soon.

This mall is huge with so many different extensions to other stores. As a visitor it's easy to get lost. There's a Real Canadian Superstore that was so so busy, with lines to check out that were really long. The self check out was the fastest line to be in. The other grocery store besides Walmart was T&T which is all Korean goods. The T&T had a lot of live seafood in tanks from King Crab at $49.99/lb to Dungeness Crab at $9.99/lb. In the US our Toys 'r' Us are closed, but this mall still had a Toys 'r' Us. You'll need to spend at least 3 hours to see everything at this mall.

Took the basketball team down here one evening and everyone enjoyed the large food court and abundant store varieties. I am not a big fan of malls but this location was worth checking out if you have some spare time.

Great variety of stores and amenities!!!

Boutiques, chain stores, customer services, play areas for the "little" shoppers, excellent variety in the Food Court and easy access to the Sky Train for rapid transit and bus networks.

Plenty of shops to have a go at in all ranges of prices. Best for bargains seemed to be the Bay store though the "bargains" are pretty higgledy-piggledy and mainly large / XL.

Nice place, bright, clean. Crowded at this time of year. Christmas decor & holiday spirit overwhelmed by noise levels & crowds. Still interesting to look around.

This is a review of the Ivanhoe Cambridge gift card that I received from a friend. I tried to use it today after receiving it about a year ago, but was told it was invalid. When I went to customer service, they informed me that unfortunately the card is activated when the purchaser first buys it (something I have never heard of before), and money is then deducted from your balance each subsequent month thereafter. I had a balance of $25 (never used) and was left with a balance of $7.50. The lady I spoke with was unhelpful and not sympathetic at all, and basically said it was my fault for not reading the fine print. They said my friend should have been informed of the terms and conditions upon purchase (she wasn't). They would not credit the rest of the amount back to my card.

I would say that this is shoddy business practice, and I have never heard of any gift card that automatically deducts money from the balance the longer you do not use it. At the very least they should have honoured the $25 that my friend originally deposited in the card. They say they have changed the program now, but what about gift cards that were purchased before? I feel completely cheated, and it doesn't help that customer service absolutely could not care less once they've taken the money.
