Mixed feelings after my visit, the zoo generally looks tired and in need of investment, no paper maps or times and many enclosures look old with limited signage. I was lucky to see the lions being fed (you are very close!) together with the tiger...More

Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns with us. Unlike many other Zoos, the Greater Vancouver Zoo is a privately run facility. We don’t receive any government funding, and rely solely on admission rates to operate the Zoo year round, however we...More

This was a lovely zoo to go to with our nephews. I'm a huge animal fan and none of the conditions at this park gave me reason to question them. All the money seemed to go to the animals.More

It is probably not the best Zoo in the World, but it is ours. Staff is nice and helpful. Many smaller animals roam around freely, giving you and your kids a chance for close observation. My fave residents: The zebras with attitude, the always hungry...More

My young kids like the zoo because they can ride their bikes around the exhibits and there is a large playground inside. This zoo has potential but the place needs a very big upgrade. I leave feeling sorry for the animals in the outdated habitats...More

This zoo has a good cross-section of animals from across Canada and around the world. Distances between sections can be demanding for those with mobility problems, so be prepared. Food services are pretty much burgers and hotdog style, with a few more elaborate choices.

I would say be prepared for 4-5k if you want to see everything. It's flat and well maintained. You can rent a large pedal cart that fit two adults and two young kids but honestly walking it is best.
