While seemingly small, we took the personalized tour with our 2 sons (ages 9 and 4) and were impressed with the experience. Our tour guide Alex was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and a wonderful conversationalist. The tour was worth every penny!

I started to walk through the historical district, and realized that it wouldn't be very engaging unless I took the suggested tour offered from the old Warden's house. This was a great choice, and one everyone should make! We had a personalized tour with our guide willing to give highlights or offer more depth when we had questions. The tour took a little over an hour, but we were able to see inside all the buildings and get a brief history for each rather than just looking at the buildings from the outside. The tour was only $7 each and was easily worth the money. The restored Fort had great displays and information, but the other buildings were interesting as well. For a short part of the day, we learned so much and really enjoyed ourselves. If you have any interest in history, take this tour - you won't regret it!

We have been to a great number of museums over the last 32 years. And in places all over the world. The City of Fort Saskatchewan Museum, with a guided tour from Cindy I. was incredible. The fee we paid for the tour inside the various restored building was worth every penny. The documentation within the buildings on top of Cindy's knowledge was simply wonderful. We have a friend that is a Docent for the Jack London Estate down in California and his tour was great (plus he's an internationally recognized expert on Jack London) but Cindy was a quarter step beyond our friend as to knowledge of her venue. She knew details that were not part of the exhibits and she was eager to share that knowledge. She was able to answer most all of my questions, but one. That one involved why are some measurements in miles vs kilometers, she was stumped. But on everything else, she was fantastic. There was even a gentleman who sort of popped in for the tour, without paying, and she expertly and professionally encouraged him to go pay if he wasted a tour. It was worth the drive and the time for the tour. I'm sure that locals and tourists alike will enjoy the tour and the education on the birth of Edmonton/Fort Saskatchewan. Thank you Cindy.

Very interesting museum grounds. The old courthouse is probably the most interesting. They say it is haunted which seems to bring people in. Apparently the last woman executed in Canada was here. The grounds are well kept, in the summer the sheep are next door keeping the grass trimmed and Legacy Park is also right there. Very active area in Fort Saskatchewan.

Our group of women had a tour in June and everyone enjoyed it. There is so much history in this one location. The Fort is absolutely fantastic!!! There are authentic touches as well as many that are recreated to make everything feel like you are back in time.
My favourite part of the museum buildings is the Kulak house. It's amazing that 9 children were raised in this 3 bedroom house. 6 girls all slept in one room and 3 boys in the other. Also the kids were not allowed in the parlour. That did not leave much space in the rest of the house. They spent a lot of time outdoors. The doctor's residence is very impressive as is the old courthouse with the upper floor looking like a trial may start any minute.
This place is a great history lesson for kids as well as wonderful for history buffs. Worth a trip!

This is a very small town and the people and customer service clearly showed this.
From hotel check- in to waitress at restaurant to employees at shops, such warm and welcoming city, very friendly.

My wife and I like to stop at historic attractions along our traveling route. This museum is a must stop for the historic buildings and local history. What was really great was the enthusiasm of the interns working here! Give these young folks lots of credit for how they made our visit great.
