Beautiful park but visitors beware that as of Sept 2021 the parking in the East side parking lot in not free anymore and they give $100 parking tickets. It is very easy to miss the sign they put up about this because it is placed on the far right as you enter, not visible if your attention is focused on turning left and parking as you enter. There are no signs around the parking lot, and no parking machines.

So beautiful!! So many beautiful trails and waterfront views. We stayed at the Best Western that has trails literally right behind the building that can access the park so we didn’t have to pay for parking, so happy about this!!

Nice park with beach, waterpark, kayak rentals, food truck and ice cream station. Parking is $50 on Fri to Sun for non-residents of Orillia (to minimize park crowding on weekends during Covid) though a purchase at the ice cream shop can provide you with 30 minutes of validated parking.

Great Out Door Space, nice path, great Gordon Lightfoot tribute statue and info at the east end of the park pathway. Great little Ice Cream Shack with MEGA Scoops in the parking lot!
This was our first time in Orillia and it was a nice visit ..this park is a must see if you have the time! Nice place for a summer picnic!

Traveling through. Wanted to walk a trail for an hour or two. Went to park in visitor parking and they wanted $50.00/day to park if you are visiting between June to September. So unless your a local, expect to pay or get your car towed. We have many wonderful trails back home that you can enjoy for free. Not pleased. Was told to call city hall if we didn’t like it.

The park is lovely -- nice beach, trees for those who want shade, a playground for children, washrooms, a chip truck and an ice cream stand. BUT, because of the virus, local people can park there, but if you aren't local, parking costs $50! We didn't stay.

Beautiful Willows grace the shoreline with magical beauty and birds. It’s the best walk along the shoreline with Gordy Lightfoot’s statue as a reminder that you are in the home of Mariposa music festival!
You’ll be sure to return for the Festival in July!

A nice little beach, but would recommend the one on the other side of town instead! However, this park has cute little ice cream shops and a breakfast/brunch joint to grab a snack or meal as you explore the park. Beautiful sunsets can be seen when walking along the waterfront and be sure to stop in at Kids for Turtles!

Is there a snack bar or food to purchase at Tudhope Park?

Yes, "Sweet Creams" dairy bar. Not cheap, but good ice cream!
Can you launch a waverunner there?

There is no launch facility at Tudhope Park but like the response before me, there is one directly across the road / highway. The park is located at the intersection of highway 12 & Atherley Road. The park is situated on Lake Couchiching and the launch is located on Lake Simcoe. I am not quite sure if you can leave the vehicle and trailer near the launch or another person would have to drive it closer to Tudhope Park. If using the launch, one needs to proceed through the narrows to the ajoining lake. You can probably bring it ashore near the swimming area but watch for small boat craft and paddle boards. Hopefully; this entry and the previous assist you in your decision.

I heard there was a sculpture of Gordon Lightfoot slated for Tudhope Park. Is it there yet?

Yes, it's there. At the top of the walking trail. I'll say no more.

Have checked the city bylaws and looks like you are good to go, nothing that stated no BBQ just no open fires.

can we do BBQ at the park

I have checked city bylaws and see nothing that states you cannot BBQ at the park. You are not allowed an open fire, but a bbq is contained and not in direct contact with the surface. Hope this helps

1. Is there an entrance fee?
2. Is there any shade at the beach?

no entrance fee, yes there is shade. Another beach i recommend is
Couchiching Beach Park, 140 Canice St, Orillia, ON (705) 329-7250 that is not far. it also has a marina and is closer to town.
