Couchiching Park is a lovely park for a city the size of Orillia. It is large with a playground, beach, picnic areas, concessions, kids' train, boat ramps, marina, band shell, and pretty gardens.

A lovely, peaceful walk along the jetty and back through the park. Separate paths for pedestrians and for cyclists, etc. Historic spots. Flat walking. Very pleasant. Lots of squirrels.

This beach is small-ish but very decent for the area. It's ok to spend time on the beach and enjoy the water; stay away on long weekends....way too crowded. Great for kids too.

There are picnic tables set up in the park, but I have not seen people bbq there. More for picnics, fishing, walking, swimming, etc.

No open cooking right on the beach, but there are picnic tables all around where you can. There is even a covered gazebo where you can BBQ.
