I have given this a 4 star review but it really deserves a 4.5. From the moment we pulled it up with our pass and staff came to greet up, we were pleased with our experience here. It wasn’t the day we had anticipated as the wind made for choppy water that we didn’t want to swim in or boat on, yet still we had enough to do. The staff at the store pointed us to the trail, which was perfect for us. We stopped along the way to enjoy our picnic. My reason for not giving it five stars was slightly confusing signage for leaving the park and on the hiking trail. I would come back again and recommend it to others,

We enjoyed Bass Lake we had a decently private electrical site with a sun shade mix, we noticed a lot of sites are so open or small not for us. We were beside a road which didnt turn out to be a problem in a year people cant go anywhere. It did drown out our noisy neighbours on occasion.
One issue was the missing water tap there is a sign and no tap, when you base your choice partially on proximity to water it can be an issue on a longer stay.
Walked the trails which were lovely all the way round, sat at Bass Lake at a shady picnic table and had a picnic. Not too buggy in August.
Waterfill/dump station are the same line up so long lines as it would include people arriving and people departing. Dont go around 2. Most provincial parks have them seperate to avoid congestion.
Had a great stay, would I go back? Probably not as there are many places to see and while enjoyable this would not be my preferred park.

I was here on Canada Day dated July 1st/20. I phoned ahead to make sure it was open since admission was free for the day. It is a 5 minute drive from our new house and got there 20 minutes after it opened up. Park Ranger was placing a limit on the people in the park for the day. I drove around for several minutes to check things out. When I left there was a line up to get into the park. Have camped here several times and it is a nice place to stay. Easy drive to Orillia. Ontario to get food and camp supplies.

We had a great experience at Bass Lake. We had gone for Group Camping during end of Jul'2019. Park is very good especially Group Camping sites 1 and 2 are very good, they are very spacious and leveled. Park employees were also very polite and helpful. Bass lake has nice beach area, bit small but very good. We were not able to do boating due to tunderstorm warning at the time we were there. Walmart and other stores are also nearby withing 5km raidus. Trail walks are not that big but reasonably good. We didnt face any major issue with Mosquitoes or bees. Toilets were cleaned every morning. Its a must go if you are camper and want to enjoy.

Stayed 6 nights and was thoroughly impressed at the cleanliness of the park. Every site has 2 picnic tables which makes outdoor dining much easier for families and well shaded lots make for a great camping experience. Staff was very polite and accommodating, facilities were clean and tidy. Launching a boat was easy also. Highly recommend to people that enjoy hiking, fishing and relaxation.

Our site #7 was shady and large with sand/gravel base. Pretty flat. The beach was decent with grass surround for the dogs. There are some small fish in teh lake.

There is a nice walking trail here that follows along the lake and eventually leads to some beautiful cedars and ferns. I like how it’s attached to the beach area, park store, and canoe rentals because it’s sll very convenient and you won’t find that everywhere. If you have a young family and want campsite convienience, you should consider sites in the cedar campground, I liked 82, and 83, but 87 looked nice as well. These sites are smallish though and likely not very private with hikers and beach traffic. I found the Lakeview sites to be the most stunning. Sites 210,211,217,219,221 were the nicest ones I observed. The tree canopy here is out of a dream. Bring a hammock and take in the sights. I was disappointed that the playground is only suitable for older toddlers and children + no baby swing. And it seems they have taken away the coffee in the park store. It’s a lovely, small park just outside of Orillia that is worth a visit!

Was driving out of Bass Lake provincial park today and saw a large group of youth walking. What seemed to be a trek from the beach area, all the way to the front entrance of the park. Not the gates, but the actual front entrance. They wouldn’t let the bus wait at the gated&parking for the youth?
This doesn’t seem fair,

i wish I had a more positive review
This is a small park and I had expectations to suit (or so I thought)
so many dead fish at the otherwise lovely beach
there were many washed ashore that stunk in the hot sun
we witnessed them being removed part way through the day, only to return to a handful more washed ashore that evening
shallow entry, which is great for small kids, so long as they arent freaked out by floating dead fish
I've been to many provincial parks, but never experienced a bathroom so dirt. It was repulsive
The highway noise was much more than I anticipated, and because of the cumulative issues, I'd not return

Not with in parks waters. I'm not sure if they have a boat launch but there should be one in town. The park shares the water with cottagers.

I'd like an idea of the cost to camp. Can't find this info on the Ontario Parks website. I looked for a campground map and place to put dates in to check availability and find out price. Am I supposed to phone and ask? Thank you
