We drove from Radium for a quick visit to Kimberley. It did not disappoint! We have 2 kids 6 & 4, they thoroughly enjoyed the train ride! The underground mining was run by Bill I think his name was, he was excellent! Engaged the kids in demonstrations and they even had a kids corner inside the mine with lego! Well... More

Loved it! The retired miners who guide the tour are super-knowledgeable and introduce a tiny bit of magic into every tour they guide. They are awesome people, and it creates an awesome tour!

Volunteers make this experience an excellent educational tour. Wear a hoodie and running shoes. There are only three tours daily so be sure to check the times before you arrive.

“Are we going die?” It was a serious question uttered softly by an 8-year-old child. Approximately 40 of us stood in the mine – the group divided in half on either side of our tour guide – while Mr. Bill Roberts regaled us with mining stories and prepared to execute a mining demonstration. The mood was somber, the crowd was... More

Went to kill a few hours on a rainy day and was well worth it. It may be too technical for the young kids, but ours enjoyed the train ride and going into a real mine. My oldest (12) was also interested in the power station stop, but the 2 younger ones were bored. I found it very informative and... More

Even though it was raining we borded the train for the tour as it was 3 on Sunday and we were not going to be in the area the next weekend and wanted to go on the tour. As it turned out we were the only people on the tour so had very personalized service. The train ride with guide... More

You take a 15-20 minute ride on a narrow gage train to a portion of the mine done as a mini museum to show how mining was done back when this was a small part of a large working mine. You may even see some wildlife along the way. A retired miner tells you how thingswerevdone and demonstrates some of... More

We were in Kimberley for two nights and this was one of the highlights. Extremely well done and informative. A fun train ride with blankets provided on a cool summer day (very thoughtful!!) We were taken inside the old mine and the guide & retired miner (Miner Bill) was fantastic. Extremely knowledgable, good with the kids and passionate about his... More
