Trails are awesome!

I love the trails in the area. Very well kept and options for different levels of fitness. I saw all ages on the trails. Great for hiking or biking.

Amazing array of hiking trails.

I have done many of these trails including the annual Round the Mountain 20 km. All the trails are well maintained and very scenic with both sheltered and open areas - all very beautiful. There are bears around so bear spray is advised. You will get the most beautiful pictures to remind you of this wonderful nature park.

Myrtle Mountain Hike/Viewpoint Hike
Jun. 2018 • Couples
This was a really pretty hike in an area which can be exposed, The view point is reached in maybe 45-60 minutes. There are nice benches to sit on once you get to the top. We stayed quite a while to cool down under the breeze. If you have a lot of clouds, you won't be able to see the mountain tops and views so pick your day. No one was there but us which I really liked! Quiet! I think it could get busy during the summer weekends so pick a weekday and bring a little snack for up at the top. Is it hard? No. Moderate. Go.

Not your regular city park
Jun. 2018 • Friends
Kimberley Nature Park is a wonderful wooded hilly park with several accesses from local streets within the city of Kimberley. This is a huge area great for exploring with kids, dogs and bikes. Trails connect to the Nordic Centre and the Round the Mountain Trail. Maps are located in various spots to keep you on track (but not on Round the Mountain). Paper maps are also available at the information centre in the downtown. One should keep a heads up for wildlife including occasional bears.

Thought I hated it until I reached the lookout
May 2017 • Couples
Wife made me go on yet another hike while on a golf trip, was hating it for the most part as there's almost no views all along the way. The paths are well worn, just follow along the signs and maps posted. I hated this hike until I reached the lookout (see photos), then it was alright. Not an overly challenging hike, so good pay-off to effort ratio. Worth the afternoon. Note-it's pretty quiet and I don't think we came across a single other person the whole time, bring bear spray and water with you.

I love these trails and hikes. I often visit them while I am in the area. I love taking people new to the area on these simple hikes that can be as long or short as you like. Not to difficult, you are sure to cross paths with locals and have an opportunity to soak up of some of the East Kootenays natural charm.

What a rush!

A hidden gem in Kimberley! We have hiked here several times and have always enjoyed it. Its not used by many so its very quiet although the trails always seem to be well groomed. There are trees that fall almost daily so beware if you are biking.
