We took the 1pm tall ship tour. Our group included myself, my wife, our almost 5 year old daughter and my mother in law. We had an amazing time. The boat is really nice and so fun for kids. They have pirate costumes, face painting, hoist the sails, steer the ship and the sea creatures touch tank. We saw three finback whales that we followed for quite a while. We also saw seals and bald eagles. Ship was smooth and comfortable for all ages. They also had a bar with juice, pop and beer. All the guides on the ship were fantastic. Would highly recommend this tour especially if you have children!

On first arriving at the dock, you may be surprised by the variety of whale-watching excursions available. To be fair, they all seem to go out to the same places, as we were within a stone's throw of several competitors when we saw porpoises, seals and a minke whale. What sets this operation apart is they go out on a tall ship, but it is powered by motor, not exclusively sail. The staff were young, hospitable and extremely attentive to guests' needs. My reason for four stars is that while individual questions are enthusiastically answered and they do go around with a "touch tank" of marine specimens on the way back, there was no narration of the sights along the way or any debriefing about wildlife that was shared with the whole group at once. The captain would shout out whale alerts, but he was hard to hear above the noise of the engine and wind. This seems like a missed opportunity that could easily be solved with a PA system and even a recorded orientation talk on the way out. The scenery is certainly impressive and even historic in places. You are almost guaranteed to see porpoises, which are technically whales. Staff offer an abundant supply of raincoats if the weather turns wet. Drinks and snacks are available, but you can bring your own food. They certainly seem devoted to your having a good experience, and our trip lasted closer to four than 3.5 hours.

The Port City Pyrates were pleased beyond what we could have expected. The check in was quick and easy. Jackets were available to anyone who wanted one.
Boarding was quick and easy! The staff onboard are terrific and kept everyone supplied with anything needed. The Captain was kind enough to fly our Jolly Roger as we departed shore. Photo ops were terrific on this tall ship and we were able to have some of the sails up during our trip.
We started out in thick fog and were afraid that spotting a whale would not happen. However, a couple of porpoises swam past us and that was a treat.
We were able to have spotted 3 whales over the course of our trip, as well as another porpoise spotting and seeing many seals resting on the rocky outcroppings on our return to shore.
It was terrific to find out that, the other boat off our port side, was communicating with our captain on where whales were spotted and this made sure we found them. Great work on the communications Captains!
We were able to take some quick photos on the boat after everyone had departed, and we even got the Captain armed with his "hook".
Thank you for this wonderful adventure. We have come away with lots of wonderful photos and memories and will spread your accolades where ever we can.

This was quite the adventure! We chose a cold rainy day for whale watching. Haha.

The Crew was lovely and provided extra blankets and rain coats. They were knowledgable about sea animals and engaging with everyone on the boat.- in French and English.

We were early in the season but were able to see harbour porpoises, seals and many other birds including an eagle.

The crew provided us with cookies and hot chocolate. Even thought the day was cold, we will happily go back.

Morning trip on the tall ship was a "Trifecta" as we saw 3 species of whale. Minke, Finback and Humpback! Also saw some Porpoise and the pair rode the waves right beside our boat. The crew was incredibly laid back and informative. The captain was quick, aware and knew where to go! Success rate for seeing wildlife is very high on the Bay. Loved it!!

Beautiful ship and such lovely crew. Our little grand daughter did all sorts of fun things onboard, even steer the ship (her fav thing). The crew were zoologists and biologists so it was informative as well as enjoyable. We got snacks. Old granny (me) had a scotch! Relaxing and entertaining. AND we saw whales. Don't hesitate.

My husband was really anxious to go whale watching, but I was leery since I get motion sickness pretty easily. The Jolly Breeze advertises that only 1 in 3000 people feel ill on their tall ship (and they have a 96% success rate at seeing whales!) so we decided to give it a go. It was all true—we saw whales and I never felt ill (although, I’ll admit, it was a lovely, calm day). The onboard guides were terrific—very friendly and knowledgeable, and we saw 2 different kinds of whales, porpoises, and bald eagles, among other things. I was especially impressed at what a great experience this was for kids—they brought out various different things during the 3.5 hour trip so there was always something new to look at or do, and they couldn’t possibly get bored. I would recommend this experience very highly! 😊

The excursion we had this past Sunday on the Jolly Breeze was awesome!! The crew was very engaging and well versed. Alex and Jenny were fantastic keeping the kids entertained on our way back, and the captain wanted us to see whales as much as we wanted to see them.
Thank you very much to all!!

Whale watching is a last minute decision for us. We booked the tour 2 hours before the departure time. When we arrived St.andrew, the check in was very easy. Staffs are very friendly. We chose the tall boat that was the only option available when we book it. and we are glad we chose this boat. Kids are having so much fun on the sailboat, Captain was interacting with kids, teaching them how to sail . Crew are showing the sea creatures to everyone on board. They have blanket, hot chocolate, homemade cookie. We were lucky to see sunset on the way back to the shore. We saw lots whales and learnt so much from this tour. Thank you Jolly breeze ! for the amazing experience in NB
