Well kept example of a revolutionary war era North American blockhouse. Great view out over the bay to the US.

We happened onto this historic park while dodging the raindrops. It was worth the stop since we are suckers for history. This small place has rather a significant history with the United States during several different periods. Thought it was definitely worth a look.

I spent some time walking around this quiet waterside park. The information on the history gave a good perspective and the view of the water was lovely.

We visited here twice. It was a lovely place to watch Sunset. Very photogenic. At low tide you can walk out along a sandbar and check out the tide pools. Nice park across the way and great restaurant next store Niger Tea Room.

This blockhouse provided information about the construction of the blockhouse, the armaments and its use during the war of 1812.

AS an American it was interesting to hear the Canadian perspective of the War of 1912. Also the privateers were more a concern than the armies

Their is not a lot to this, but a touch of history. The view itself is worth the stop as the bay and many lovely sailboats are clearly evident and the cannons are in decent shape.

Thank Glidr
