My husband found this on TripAdvisor so we stopped on our way out of Gander. They did a beautiful job. I did not know that this was the greatest airplane disaster in Canada.

Very solemn memorial at the crash site. The soldier without weapons, holding the children's hands is a nice tribute the mission. I would say this is a must see for any American tourist.

Came here after visiting the museum just down the road. As English, had not heard about this before, but was moved to be able to go and visit such a nice memorial for so many people who lost their lives.

This was the greatest airplane tragedy in Canadian history. If you are in the area this great loss of American lives should be commemorated by paying a visit to the site. It is very well done and moving.

Sad place for remembering a tragic accident still really unsolved as of today. Make sure you go see all the names, makes you feel sad about the tragedy

We found our way down a rough road just off the TCH. It tells the story of why the memorial is there and is a lovely tribute. The statue is quite beautiful. Our favourite part of this memorial was finding our way to the beach...More
