Hidden gem. Soft sandy beach with killer view. Not crowded. Cold water but at the far end there is an inlet that is endless hours of fun for kids. Perfect for sandcastles and wading. Lots of drift wood. Perfect spot to spend the day.

What a gorgeous beach. Plus a couple of spacious and clean bathrooms at the parking lot. We went on Canada Day and there was hardly anyone there. It seems to be a favourite of locals to walk their dogs. Water was REALLY cold but we went in all the way just to say we had swum in Lake Superior.

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and clean beach on Lake Superior, look no further than Sandy Beach. This beach is perfect for relaxing, swimming or letting dogs frolic in the sand and water. My family enjoyed this beach so much that we visited every afternoon during our 5 day stay in Wawa, What a great place to unwind and relax.

Picturesque fine sandy beach with natural dune grass and the roar of Lake Superior waves in the background. This is where AY Jackson, Group of Seven artist, had a cottage and came to paint.

Fantastic Sand Beach on Lake superior! Very long, clean and isolated beach during our visit. Certainly worth the drive in to see it and have a swim on a hot day!

Just a gorgeous piece of Lake Superior shoreline where the wave energy and wind has deposited a lit of sand. We were there in October and it was deserted making it nothing short of spectacular with great back dunes and water and sand as far as you can see

Sure, in the north, it takes all of July to warm up for swimming, but once August hits, it's amazing! It takes a long time to cool down, and September swimming is usually fantastic too - As long as the weather holds up.
(It's no fun swimming when it's snowing. lol!)
My last swim of the season was yesterday, Sept 28, 2019, but I'm considering putting on a wet suit and swimming in October, or maybe next June, because I don't want to wait another 10 months to swim here again.

Beautiful spot to check out! Nice sandy beach, gorgeous water and a beautiful view! The water was chilly, but nice to walk along and to check out.
