Looking for a double activity. Look no more. 7 km of calm water kayaking, canoeing or paddleboarding down the Rivière du Nord and 4 km cycling back up to your starting point.

Nice and easy canoe trip on the river du Nord followed by a nice and easy bike ride! Pleasant and peaceful! The rides takes about 3 hours door to door. Everyone enjoyed it!

Had such a great time yesterday at l’Abordage. The kayaking experience was heavenly - so relaxing and we paddled through such a gorgeous piece of nature. Twice we passed deer in our kayaks eating leaves at the river’s edge. The mild rapids added a bit of excitement, but were very easy to manage even for inexperienced kayakers. The kayaking took us about 2 hours, as we were paddling at a very leisurely pace. The return by biking return took us about twenty minutes. At both ends, the staff were very courteous, helpful and bilingual. Highly recommend this adventure, and look forward to doing it again soon!

We had such a fun time doing the kayaking and then the return by bike. As another reviewer said, you really should do this. The water is very shallow so it’s very safe if you want to take young children. It’s a peaceful lazy river. It takes 2 hours if you really take your time. You can pack a lunch and have it at the beach at the end of the kayak trip and then take the bike back to the base. There’s enough room in the kayak to carry a small lunch cooler. The bike ride back on the Petit Train Du Nord bike trail was short and sweet.

My friend and I had a morning to have fun and we are glad we chose this attraction. The paddle down the river is fun and full of wildlife. You could walk most of the way as the river is quite low, buy kayaking it was better. We had a torrential rain storm, but it was warm, so that didn't matter much. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They met us at the end of the paddle with our back to town bikes. The bike path is very easy to ride on and anyone with a modicum of fitness could do it.
Please note that it really does take two hours to do the paddle. Even if you paddle all the time, there is so much to see that you can't do it in less. There are places to pull out and have a swim or a bite to eat if you want. The bike ride back took about 20 minutes. When we got back to the beginning we were ready to do it again!

This is not to be missed. Not a cheap experience for a family of eight but well worth it.
You will go through amazing landscapes and see very secluded and expensive cottages.
Some of us rode back on a bicycle while young ones used the shuttle to go back to the Val David base.

Rent a kayak, paddle easily down river for around 2 hours, drop the kayak, pick up a bicycle and head back via a woodland trail. All included, 3 hours, for under $40!
The river section was very easy to paddle as you are floating with the current. The views are beautiful. There are houses along the river for some parts so it is not like a wilderness retreat. Also on the bike ride back, there was quite a bit of " bike traffic". The rental includes ocean or covered kayaks, single or double. The bicycles are standard and comfortable. If you have kids you can rent the adaptor thing to have the child on the back.
The kayak portion finishes on a little beach where you can take a break and enjoy a swim or lunch at a picnic table. It was a very relaxing 3 hours.
