What a gift this company is to the region as champions and partners of Sea! Knowledgeable naturalist accompanies the tour and speaks about all things mammals gives interesting facts and tips about the whales and sea life, is also helpful in answering questions you may have. A seasoned and capable captain is also aboard navigating the waves like a pro. You will feel safe and free to relax and delight in the magnificence of the sea.We saw Humpback whales with a calf, seals, and sea lions. You will be kept warm by the appropriate layers you wear including the insulated suit they provide for you to keep dry and warm. Today was Juneuary 12 I was grateful for the suit! Call and book a tour off their website. They're a great company, friendly, hospitable, good humoured humans and you will have memories for a lifetime!

A highlight of Sooke so far. If you plan to be in the Sooke area for a day, I highly recommend taking this 3 hour tour on the water. Paul and Molly were fabulous hosts and very very knowledgeable about the whales in the area. If I'm ever back in Sooke, I'll be taking this tour again.

What a great morning!! We saw a baby humpback whale, pods of Orcas, seals and Eagles. Amazing day for sure. The captain was very knowledgeable of the area and I would do this trip again in a minute.

This was a truly amazing morning. Although, they are rightly proud of their 100% sighting record this year, there is still a part of you that worries that today might just be the day they don’t show up! I needn’t have worried, Dan knew exactly where to head and we saw many humpback whales this morning.
Despite staying a respectful distance, one headed straight for and under our boat, which was terrifying but wonderful at the same time. This isn’t a ‘you’ve seen one, we can go back now’ trip; we spent ages searching and waiting for the pods to resurface before heading to the ecological reserve to see basking sea lions.
This is an experience I will remember for a long time. Thank you

My wife and I had taken a whale watching tour with a larger company in Victoria the day prior and were left disappointed. We headed to Sooke with no real plans and ended up stumbling across Sooke Costal Explorations while driving to our hotel. We literally walked in and were put on the afternoon sailing with another couple. Captain Dan was great! The water was still without any wind. We were surrounded by Humpback whales. This was literally a once in a lifetime experience. We were on a smaller boat and at times were maybe 20 feet from diving Humpback whales. The staff were down to earth, knowledgeable and loved their job. I couldn't tell who was more excited about seeing the whales so close, us or Captain Dan! If you're looking for a whale watching experience second to none I strongly recommend Sooke Coastal Explorations.

Thanks guys for the amazing day!

We have just had the most wonderful morning whale watching! Big Thankyou to Paul for finding room for us and to Dan our boat driver and guide! Thanks to The team we saw a pod of four Orcas - including a baby. Two hump backs - some were lucky enough to see one breach- it was over in seconds!! We also saw seals, sea lions and bald headed eagles! It was everything we hoped for and more.

The ride out on the boat was great fun too. All equipment was in perfect working order and we all were glad we chose to go with this group. Also felt we had our money’s worth as we’re out for a good three hours -Really recommend.

Felling very very lucky!
