Tugwell Creek Honey Farm and Meadery was liscenced in 2003 as the first Meadery in Western Canada. At our oceanside honeyfarm we hand craft the highest quality Meads (Honey Wines) from local honey. Meadmaker Bob Liptrot has kept bees since the age of 6 and has been making mead for over 35 years. Come taste our award winning meads and honey. In 2014 we became the new Economusee on Vancouver Island. Tugwell now boasts a museum quality exhibit, interactive displays, and a self guided audio tour. It's a great place to stop and wander a bit and see the animals then try some mead. Head out with some bottles to take on the rest of your west coast adventure!

We didn't really know much about making mead, so this was a very interesting stop along the road. We wandered around a bit but didn't do an actual tour. We did partake of the sampling session in the tasting room, and, as well as having...More

Turned up to beautiful flowers and setting - obviously lots of bees buzzing around. We did self guided tour - no idea what was going on (possibly as out of season) but did mead tasting which was great fun. Lovely gifts to take home too

Enjoyed tasting a variety of meads. Our host was a wealth of knowledge of mead. We bought a bottle if one of the sweeter meads, and look forward to trying it with supper tonight.

This is our go-to place for fresh handcrafted honey and the odd bottle of honey mead. This family has been in the bee keeping, honey producing and mead making industries for generations. It is a must see for any visitors!

They have wine tastings and honey tastings, I aways bring my out-of-town visitors to buy tasty Sooke souvenirs here.

On the way back from Port Renfrew we stopped at the farm for a tasting. The family liked the flavor of the mead, I liked the honey.

Great mead, wonderful tasting room and beautiful setting. Try the honey, and get a bottle or two of mead. There's nothing quite like it.
